Truth is with 13 cymbals and drum mics everywhere I'd really prefer a rack but it wouldn't match my black hardware on my Mapex set. So I use the Mapex black hardware. They're not ding proof. I had a Mapex guy tell me they were powder coated in a way where they wouldn't scrape off the black if banged together. Just not so. So you can't take these down and toss them in a pile after a gig and not expect damage. They will dent/chip exposing the silver underneath. However; if you're either super careful wrapping them or don't gig with them they're beautiful. And they're priced well so I have a great many of them in the different thickness of their models. What Mapex needs is a black two footed hi-hat stand. These are great though for average use. And look spectacular. ... show more

PRO: It is a lightweight stand. CON: “Boom arm” is SUPER SHORT. Not crazy about how the short boom arm is cinched down on this stand. I won’t buy another one.
