I have a few rainwater and oil barrels I use for storage in my garage. I have a crane lifter for barrels I attached on to this and have it suspended from the rafters in my garage. makes it nice and easy to load and unload barrels from a truck and move them around the garage, empty or full. Usually I will just pull the truck into the garage. Hook up a barrel, then drive the truck out from under it and lower it down. Worked well for unloading fencing rolls as well which were 300 lbs each. With no other mechanical advantage than the lever, you are 1:1 with how much chain you move with the lever. Best to pull the handle tight and crank as little as possible otherwise you will be cranking that handle for an hour just to move your load a few feet.

This is an OK item. I don't know how to actually weight test it but the link son here look a little small for this much weight. I don't plan to use often so it should work fine for relatively small uses. I plan to use in my garage to move material from the floor to the loft.

I've used manual hoists before, but I was amazed at how easily this ratchet chain hoist worked. I hooked it up to the main beam in my garage and hooked a chain around the front of my 24 HP lawn tractor and I was able to easily hoist it into the air with very little exertion. The chain did not slip and held the tractor's front end off the ground for over 24 hours. I completed the work on my deck without having to take the deck off the tractor which saved me a lot of back-breaking labor.
