Wear the gloves that are included. Heed my advice, please! Luckily I only got a tiny chunk out of my finger but it could have been MUCH worse. I was way too complacement. Doesn't matter what you are doing, just put them on or use the holder which is also very effective. The slicer is very versatile and has a minor learning curve. It helps to do a test of the slices (mm thickness setting). I used a potato to test out slicing, making homemade chips. (as in traditional American "Lay's" style potato chips). The 3mm-6mm setting worked pretty well for that. I haven't been able to get the hang of waffle fries, without doing them very thick. Works great for vegtables, like carrrots, cucumber. There's no limit to what it can slice, just need to test out your medium and be willing to learn.

The works fairly nicely. It cuts potatoes and carrots (that is all I have tried yet) quite easily. I really like the gloves and the safety guard. It could use a feature that would allow you to cut more of the produce. The instructions could be better. They need to be larger for us old folks who can't see that well.

I researched several mandoline's before I decided on this one. I am so glad I did. I wanted one that I did not have to balance over a bowl which can be tricky when your pushing vegetables through a sharp blade. It is well made, very sturdy and the blade is super sharp. It is easy to adjust the slicing thickness because the knob is clearly marked. You literally just twist the dial to the desired thickness. I like that it has "legs" which just easily fold out and lift the mandoline off the counter. I just sanitized my countertop, flipped the legs down, twisted the dial to 1/8" thickness and sliced 3-lbs of potatoes in about 5-minutes. It is also a plus that it comes with gloves, as if you've ever cut your finger on a mandoline you know how easy it is to do. I have not used the julienne or waffle option yet but there is a video on the site that shows you how easy it is to adjust it for either of those options. If you want a reasonably priced, quality mandoline, I would highly recommend this one.

It's OK. Not easy to clean. Does not come apart. Lots of nooks and crannies. Easy to adjust thickness of slices. Leaves maybe more than an inch of food unsliced due to design of holder. No way to sharpen. Not sure it will stay sharp long. Metal parts are flimsy and bend as you apply pressure.

I've thrown in the towel on using this. It is just a bad design and poor quality. They give you cut proof gloves because the food slider/grabber does nothing. So you need them to cut anything at all and not your hands. Also, just not a fan of having the Julienne blades attached to a rotating dial. And the flip up cover with the blade attached it a disaster waiting to happen. Just ordered a model with removal snap on and out blades.

Easy to use and clean. I make pickled carrots and jalapeños all the time and use to cut everything by hand. My daughter in law suggested a slicer. I got this one and loved it. The vegetables are all sliced the same size so everything tastes the same rather than different sizes where some things are more pickled or varying degrees of heat.
