The USM is a universal handgun scope mount which requires no modification to the gun and offers a steady and secure mounting platform over the slide. Matt black hard coat anodized for optimal wear resistance compatibility:all handguns with underside accessory rail in compliance with the following specifications: a minimum of 45mm long pica tinny or weaver accessory rail. Up to 28mm in slide and body width. Up to 48mm in height from under side of accessory rail to end of front sight.

I knew going in that "universal" didn't mean much since there are literally thousands of different size guns out. That being said when it DIDN'T fit my Taurus PT1911AR, I wasn't surprised. It fit like a glove width wise with around .125" (1/8") gap or less on each side. but while I carefully slid it on the lower rail it was painfully obvious that it was definetly going to rest on the top of the slide. After closely looking at how much it was off by I determined that any halfway mechanically person could easily remove enough material with a file for it to clear. I can't stress enough to line the inside of the adapter with black tape to avoid scratching your slide. The parkerized 1911's especially. My stainless didnt really show and marks....but I was careful. I'm a machinist by trade so you can imagine..I made it work. I used a EDM wire machine to remove the material from the needed area to achieve the "factory finish". I also sandblasted the adapter to match the pistol. Overall it seems to be a solid adapter, although I haven't got many rounds through it yet. For now I'll give it 5 stars, for "tacticoolness" and lets face it....who else makes one? I've uploaded a couple pics of my pistol with the adapter installed. One more thing. The screw/bolt that came with mine will work fine. I recommend getting one with a shoulder though. The recoil from larger caliber pistols with eventually move the adapter forward/backward and when it does the threads from the screw/bolt will cut into your lower rail. ... show more

Very well made product. machining is very good, painted finish is good. I use this on a EAA WITNESS P-S (or small frame polymer), and have tried it on a few other pistols that friends own. I would highly recommend this product, but check the reviews and questions to see if someone has attached it to the pistol you intend to use it on. Also notice shipping is from Isreal, I missed that, mount still arrived in about a week and a half, so pretty quick. The term "Universal" maybe a little confusing to some. This will fit a large number of pistols, especially metal framed guns with milled pic, or weaver rails. Those of us with polymer framed guns may have issues that our metal framed counterparts wont. generally metal frame guns are thinner across the middle than polys, and this unit fits close to the sides of the gun. Mounts opening is 1.18ish wide, and 1.5ish tall (from the rail). If your gun is wider or taller than that it might be a tight fit, if at all. Also ive noticed that pic rails on polymer guns are, in general, slightly larger that their metal counter parts, this mount scrapes some of the plastic away from the area just above the rail itself, results in a nice tight fit but if your a stickler for scratches you wont like it one bit. I had both of these issues on my witness as it is very slightly wider than 1.2 where the metal inserts that the slide rides in are located, and it has a rail about the size ive come to expect on polymer pistols (its already been scratched up by the light that usually rides on the gun). to remedy, or at least mitigate the issues, ive removed some material from the mount, as you can see in the pictures. Also my guns just barely short enough from rail to top that the mount clears the barrel, during cycling it touches slightly, but causes no problems besides a faint line at the top on the slide. ... show more

Just got this for my M&P22. It is a perfect fit for this gun. The clearances are spot on and not too high, only a 1/2 inch from the top of the slide to the top of the picatinny rail. More than enough room for the brass to eject. You can also still use your iron sights. I am waiting for my reflex sight to come in, but have no doubt that it will fit. With this you can build you a M&P22 race gun for fun or competition. I am using this because of the lack of good sights for this otherwise fine gun. With the red dot mounted I expect to greatly improve my shooting. Right now I have a hard time seeing the sights with my bifocals. My son just thinks it makes the gun look cool. Also with alot of shooters transitioning to red dot sights, this will allow you to keep up with the trend.     • Works fine. Not perfect.
Put on DB FS9. While made "well", even after fully tightening down the ONE set screw, you can still bend/manuever the mount. e.g. you grab pistol's grip with one hand, and the mount itself with other and twist opposing directions - you get a little twist - let go, it'll go back to 'true', but this makes me wonder if under repetitive recoil, will I lose accuracy? I've only taken it out and sighted it in once. Other thing I didn't figure on is that once attached, with the sight mounted on top, your line of sight that you're used to is about 1.5" higher, which made for a weird feeling when drawing, pressing forward and trying to find the reflex's reticle (vs. using regular sights). Additionally, if you're thinking home self-defense, the sight you mount - how does it turn on - I purchased an inexpensive one from Amazon, works fine, but to turn it on you've got to manually turn a dial - so in a quick draw situation - semi worth less (hope you have night sights). I'm gonna try to remount it drilling through this mount and thru the polymer frame of pistol... Fun and looks good, but functionality is questionable. Better to just buy a pistol with reflex sight mount dove-tailed into slide rail already. *** Good point from another review below - I had to mount as forward as I could so it didn't block the ejection port. A redesign with the frame arms going directly up, rather than back at an angle, and with the top rail extending back an inch further would be a better design. It would appear that form took priority over function in the design. AND they need to add another set screw at the bottom. ONE is not enough. ... show more
