Description

The USM is a universal handgun scope mount which requires no modification to the gun and offers a steady and secure mounting platform over the slide. Matt black hard coat anodized for optimal wear resistance compatibility:all handguns with underside accessory rail in compliance with the following specifications: a minimum of 45mm long pica tinny or weaver accessory rail. Up to 28mm in slide and body width. Up to 48mm in height from under side of accessory rail to end of front sight.

The machining and quality of this rail is excellent. Tried it on three of different pistols to see how it would fit. First pistol, a glock 30. The width of the larger frame glock seems to be an issue. The top outer edges of the glock 30 slide DO rub on the inside top edges of the rail mouint slightly. Removing a little material from the inside of the rail mount would definately remedy this problem. Plenty of height clearance on the glock 30, but not enough to field strip it without removing the rail mount. Next pistol was a glock 17. Plenty of clearance around the entire pistol, and still enough top clearance to field strip the pistol without having to remove the rail mount. Still able to use the fixed sights on both glocks with the rail mount attached. Third and last pistol was a Sig 1911 tacops rail (non-traditional) pistol. For those that might not know, the top of the slides on the non-traditional Sigs have more of a squared top, as apposed to the rounded tops of the traditional series. Now the fit on this pistol could not have been any better. Could easily pass for a Sig factory made rail for this pistol. Just the right amount of clearance all around the pistol. Still able to use standard Sig night sights. Only drawback is could NOT field strip with rail mounted on pistol. The aluminum rail mounted on the steel Sig seemed more "firm" when compared to the feel of mounted on the polymer glock. Very well made product. machining is very good, painted finish is good. I use this on a EAA WITNESS P-S (or small frame polymer), and have tried it on a few other pistols that friends own. I would highly recommend this product, but check the reviews and questions to see if someone has attached it to the pistol you intend to use it on. Also notice shipping is from Isreal, I missed that, mount still arrived in about a week and a half, so pretty quick. The term "Universal" maybe a little confusing to some. This will fit a large number of pistols, especially metal framed guns with milled pic, or weaver rails. Those of us with polymer framed guns may have issues that our metal framed counterparts wont. generally metal frame guns are thinner across the middle than polys, and this unit fits close to the sides of the gun. Mounts opening is 1.18ish wide, and 1.5ish tall (from the rail). If your gun is wider or taller than that it might be a tight fit, if at all. Also ive noticed that pic rails on polymer guns are, in general, slightly larger that their metal counter parts, this mount scrapes some of the plastic away from the area just above the rail itself, results in a nice tight fit but if your a stickler for scratches you wont like it one bit. I had both of these issues on my witness as it is very slightly wider than 1.2 where the metal inserts that the slide rides in are located, and it has a rail about the size ive come to expect on polymer pistols (its already been scratched up by the light that usually rides on the gun). to remedy, or at least mitigate the issues, ive removed some material from the mount, as you can see in the pictures. Also my guns just barely short enough from rail to top that the mount clears the barrel, during cycling it touches slightly, but causes no problems besides a faint line at the top on the slide. ... show more

    • Perfect red dot solution!!!
This item fit both my CZ SP01 and my CZ P09 9mm pistols like a glove! Rock solid, stays on and retained zero after 250 rounds. I also took it off just to see if it would keep zero after putting it back on and it did. If your looking to find a solution for placing a red dot or any optic on your pistol without a very expensive and destructive modification to your pistol slide this is the one. If your pistol is not too thick. Your pistol needs to have a bottom rail and can't be any wider than the CZ P09. It easily fit my SP01 and fit with no room to spare on my CZ P09. The screw that tightens the rail mount fits through a bottom rail slot to ensure that it stays in place. Also because your optic is not mounted on the slide it takes far less recoil shock. This most likely increases the life of your optic. I highly recommend this mount. My only suggestion is to provide a list of pistols that this particular model fits and make a different slightly wider model for pistols like the Beretta PX4 Storm. I am extremely happy with this purchase. These middle aged eyes were able to hit 34 eight inch plates in a row at 25 yards with this mount and a Burris First Strike 5 MOA red dot. Nice! ... show more

    • Don't do it
I purchased this for my Glock 23 and 35-.40 cal. with the intention of attaching my Burris Fastfire 3 red dot. I was unable to zero as the fast fire ran out of vertical MOA adjustment due to the sight height over the bore. It didn't matter anyway because within the first 20 rounds the mount came loose and moved forward. I retightened but it happened again. I thought maybe the screw was not aligned with the gap in the bottom rail, but it was. I then really re tightened but found that this was beginning to squeeze the polymer frame to the point of deformity and began to affect the slide movement. At this point I just gave up on it. Too bad because i really wanted this thing to work. Oh and it wouldn't fit on my 1911...I am gonna try the Polymer Mako mount that attaches to the frame with the pins to see if I like the set up before I really invest in a SJC mount that requires drilling……Good luck folks, I hope this helps…. ... show more
