  • Works great especially for those times you turn off the power.
Style: Heat Gun Only
I bought this because I am lazy. I was bending some replacement conduit and realized that it would be easier if I could do it with the power off. But my other heat gun runs in 120V. ☹️. I have Makita battery powered lights why not a Makita battery powered heat gun? I thought, while a bit unwieldy, it will do heat shrink tubing which I also usually don’t have 120V and my torch (which can also bend conduit) sometimes (often) leaves scorch marks. Totally unnecessary unless you are lazy, or are just looking for another excuse to justify owning so many Makita batteries. ... show more

  • Hard to justify…
Style: Heat Gun Only
I love Makita, but this product is sub-par. It takes a long time to shrink wire wraps (a few minutes each), and even the smaller ones. Good for small specific uses, but not general use. Very slow and low flow.

  • Awsome... but...
Style: Heat Gun Only
It not the fault of Makita, but while convenient AF, this heat gun just can't replace a 120v corded gun. It comes in VERY handy when you need to do only a few heat shink splices far from any power outlet. It burns though a 5AH battery in short order too. All in all, worth it for me and I would buy again understanding that its use it pretty specialized but perfect for when you need it. ... show more

  • Great heat & mobility
Style: Heat Gun Only
I bought both Makita's heat guns, cord and cordless. Yes, the corded one has more heat and more fan power, but the cordless one has enough heat and ok fan power and great mobility option. So, my opinion, if you need it for small jobs like wires or glue/paint removal or bend a pipe or two, it is ok. But if you have big jobs stick with the corded one. For me I'll keep it for great mobility and easy to grab for small and medium jobs, which all I needed for. ... show more

  • Nice but....
Style: Heat Gun Only
This heat gun is very nice for small applications but does NOT heat to high temperature at 1,022°F. I will keep but can only use if for smaller jobs. Does not work for larger applications like shrink wrap on a radiator hose.

  • Cordless is the best
Style: Heat Gun Only
I bought this product for my Dad, who does residential construction. What a great gift! He loves it! He’s been using a heat gun with a cord for years and it can sometimes be an ordeal to find electricity on the job site or to run a cord to reach where you need to work! Good bye cords, hello simplicity! ... show more
