  • Powerful drill for mixing mortar
Style: Variable Speed
Very nice drill. Plenty of power

  • Great drill for mixing Clay and Paper
Style: No Variable Speed
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a heavy duty drill to mix clay and paper. I originally purchased the DP4000 but felt I needed more amps to do the job. Both drills felt strong, and sturdy in my hands and would serve normal drill needs very adequately. I'm glad I switched products though, the DS4011 is a little larger, better amps (8.5 vs. 7), and the extra handles on the top and rear really help me keep a sturdy hold on the drill while mixing. I use this drill with the "Bon 15-187 24-Inch Carbon Steel Drill Mixer with 5-Inch Triple Fin Wheel" and so far I am very pleased with the performance of both items. The video shows the first mixing test; a success. I will post additional updates as I move into high production gear...soon! ... show more

  • Terrific tool
Style: Variable Speed
I’m mixing mortar and laying cement board prior to tiling. The torque of this drill mixes (small to medium) batches of Mortar with ease. Although I am reluctant to mix a large batch (as I don’t want to burn out the motor), for what I’m doing, this is a terrific drill.

  • Works good
Style: Variable Speed
Drill works fine. 2 things i dont like. Is the thread in handle threads into plastic. So i dont bother with it knowing it will easily be broken off. The rear handle spins. So its not much to hold onto. I use it for mixing joint compound and self leveling cement. And does fine. It has the power to do the job. My only gripe is the handles. ... show more

  • Rugged, powerful, Makita
Style: Variable Speed
I'd buy this again if I needed another 1/2 drill. This is a beast.

  • Very stout... works well so far.
Style: Variable Speed
Seems to be a high quality, heavy drill... Have some concern about the trigger lock function... do not understand why they put it on. I may put a plate over it to make sure we don't accidentally lock the trigger and then get a bit locked...resulting in the drill twisting - which happens all the time when drilling 3/8" plate like we do. ... show more

  • Bad ass drill!
Style: Variable Speed
I used this to mix structo lite Plaster. Super easy to use, powerful. Always mixed it up just right and I was able to control the speed well!

  • Solid piece of equipment
Style: Variable Speed
Very powerful and solid. We needed something to mix thinset for our bathroom remodel and this drill does the job with little effort for the drill or me. We originally bought a throw away 1/2" drill from HF, based on the recommendation on a few forums, but it smoked after a few seconds and was useless. Then we rented a drill from a home improvement store and realized the cost would add up fast given our pace of work so we invested in this Makita drill. One of the best decisions we made among the many mistakes. ... show more
