Let's get the bad over with: Battery Management: It is a nifty design that they went with for the battery adapter but, it is bulky and awkward. I use a makita 4.0AH battery with this jacket and it is bulky and can get in the way. The Zipper: Very odd design on the zipper Now for the Goodies: The Heat!: This jacket has good insulation without using the heating function, with the heat cranked on it gets very toasty and with the 4.0AH Battery it's lasted roughly 6 hours Fit and comfort: The fit is dead on nice and snug but still mobile, the exterior is similar to neoprene and the interior is like a super soft blanket Conclusion: This jacket is pricey at $199 but is very well built and functions as advertised both as a standard jacket and a heated one. I would highly reccomend this product to anyone in cold climates if you want heat but something lighter than a carhartt or down jacket. ... show more

  • Makita Heated Jacket
Size: X-Large Color: Black
I work outdoors all winter and this jacket provides a perfect amount of warmth during the colder months. Come Jan-Feb I’ll usually put my carhart jacket over it and it creates a nice little oven effect . It won’t however work with the other LTX modules that makita sells but I can get a full day on full power off a 3A battery. ... show more

  • Jacket didn't work
Size: X-Large Color: Black
First jacket didn't work. I tried all my 18v batteries from 2ah to 5ah let it run for 45 minutes and it did not produce heat. Tried to exchange it and second jacket arrived open with pet hair on the shell and interior of the jacket. Gross. While jacket did heat up I would prefer a new (not previously opened) jacket for the price that was paid. ... show more

  • Some good and bad

Took this on my trip. Camping could not get it to turn on. Tried multiple times but after getting home. Turned on and worked great ever since.

  • Great warming features, very functional!

My husband does work outdoors for extended periods. This jacket greatly helps him with staying warmer and more comfortable while working. Easy to spot clean so far, we haven't done a full wash yet.

  • A rather decent upgrade form Makita's first heated jacket!
Size: Large Color: Black
Overall impressed with the jackets heat output and wind breaker capacity. Fairly lightweight for the level of warmth. It comes with the 18V adapter however you can purchase a 12V adapter if you want less bulk. In 18V I only ran 2.0ah batteries because swapping back and forth between the only (2) 2.0ah batteries I own bothered me less than bulk, and I would still get around 3 hours on high per battery and upwards of an 8+ hour day on low. I ended up purchasing the 12V adapter to try with my 12V 4.0ah battery (which oddly has approx. 25% more watt hours than a 2.0ah 18V battery) and I was pleasantly surprised with the improvement! When compared to the "compact" (2.0ah) 18V option it is less weight, less bulk, easier to get in and out of the pocket, and better run time.. Possibly the first purpose that I really like the 4.0ah 12V battery for! If you feel like the 18V set-up is bulky, awkward, or uncomfortable hanging off your side, then I highly recommend trying the 12V adaptor, it helped me really like this jacket.. The 12V adapter I got is Makita part # YL00000003 ... show more

The jacket was exactly what we were hoping for. The fit is true to size. The warmth is wonderful. As a construction worker, this jacket has been great for warmth while outdoors.
