Description

Value-priced, high quality tools - leading the market by ensuring that products are rugged, reliable and reasonably priced. The heart of Makita's high pressure pneumatics is the 2.5 HP High Pressure Air Compressor, model AC310H. With a high-pressure 1.6 gallon tank, the AC310H provides the same capacity as a conventional five-gallon tank at 120 PSI, but with less noise and a more compact size for easier transport. In addition, the AC310H is engineered to run high pressure and conventional nailers.View largerAC310H FeaturesINNOVATION - Makita technology delivers 400 PSI capacity for the next generation of high pressure nailersPOWER - 3.6 CFM at 90 PSI for conventional nailers and 2.7 CFM at 300 PSI for high pressure nailersEFFICIENCY - Low amp draw reduces incidences of tripped breakers and voltage drops during start-upsDURABILITY - Four-pole induction motor for increased efficiency and added durabilityINCLUDES - Two Universal couplers for conventional nailers and two couplers for high-pressure nailersTool SpecificationsMotor2.5 HPPumpOil-lessTank (gal.)1.6Performance (CFM)40 PSI3.7 90 PSI3.6 300 PSI2.7Maximum Pressure (PSI)400Size (L x W x H)18-3/4" x 14-3/4" x 20"Net Weight (lbs.)79.4Highly-Efficient Two-Stage PumpThe AC310H has a more efficient four-pole induction motor operating at 1,720 RPM for greater displacement at lower RPM with lower noise, and a highly-efficient dual-head (two-stage) pump that builds up to 400 PSI capacity. The low AMP draw reduces the incidence of tripped breakers and voltage drop during start-up.The AC310H has dual capacity, with two universal couplers for conventional nailers (3.6 CFM at 90 PSI) and two couplers for high pressure nailers (2.7 CFM at 300 PSI). It has an oil-less pump for maintenance-free operation, with a roll cage and kick plate to withstand extreme jobsite environments. The large rubberized bumpers are designed for added durability, with large regulator knobs for easier adjustments. The AC310H is engineered with High Pressure Technology that dramatically increases air pressure created in the compressor and delivered to pneumatic nailers. The result is a superior power-to-weight ratio, and a more efficient system than conventional compressors. The AC310H is just another example of Makita's commitment to innovative technology and best-in-class engineering.Makita High Pressure Compressor TechnologyMakita delivers the future of pneumatics with new high-pressure technology. • Worth waiting for . . passing on a hint for future owners!
Although we love Makita, and dearly wanted as quiet a compressor as possible, when we read all the reviews here we felt we might be taking a chance upon this purchase! We learned a simple lesson worth passing on. Like all men, the day the compressor arrived first thing out of the box my husband and his friend immediately plug it in and listen to how quietly it ran! Which was beautiful! Then . . . . we load it up, haul it to our flooring job all excited to use this air compressor NOW! Get it up there, rig the lines turn it on, without looking first did not know both the regulators were pre set to MAX! And we can in no way back them off! The Amazon reviews warned us of regulator issues, Heck I had already called our service center and said “what if we have . . “ No joy they just will not turn by hand! We’ve drained the tank, no still no good. Do we get out the big mean wrenches! NO WE DO NOT! We turn off, unplug . . . sigh and say ok we’ll take it down to service center tomorrow. I have to say it was my husband with the brainstorm! Next morning he says . . I wonder . . . and goes out to our vehicle where it sat in waiting . . . Both regulators turn with the greatest of ease! My husband backed both off to minimum settings and ever since no troubles all all - our range (and we are only using the lighter side) is about 100 psi, we have no issues adjusting in our comfort range! Our theory about this: this compressor is factory tested before shipping. Factory tested at maximum setting! Most people who purchase one, what is the first thing they will do? Why plug it in see if it will run of course! Once turned on, if set at that maximum setting, the extreme pressure built up behind the regulators do not allow the said regulators to be backed off! One must, even with a drained tank, allow the unit to sit overnight for this pressure to bleed off. Other than this, 7 straight days of use in the same rooms I’m working in, small ipod with speaker playing softly in the background and it was just beautiful! Love being able to run 2 hoses so 2 nailers at the same time! Just an all around great unit. We are glad we finally purchased. I’d say it would be good to put something in the small pamphlet that comes with the compressor on how to troubleshoot this but not sure that would mean anyone would actually read it to see this. ... show more

  • Maybe I got a good one?
I'm a GC, and I bought the makita HP compressor & framing nailer two years ago. At the time there were no reviews here, and only a brief write up on some tool review website. I bought it because Im a bit of a tool junkie, and getting a new toy makes framing walls seem like more fun. Anyway, I figured I'd throw in my brief thoughts after reading all the negative reviews. Mine works great, I love how quiet it is, how quiet the gun is, and oddly enough I love the makita hose more than anything else. The gun is crazy light. Use it for a week then pick up a regular coil framing gun full of 3" spikes. This could be an exaggeration but it feels 5lbs lighter. The compressor however is NOT crazy light. It's all motor, which I suspect is made of some tungsten lead super alloy. I move it around at night or other lowlight conditions, so nobody sees me struggling to tote this small compressor. Full disclosure- I've probably used this thing a total of 80 hrs. It's too nice for my guys to mangle, so it's locked up in my private tool section where the gremlins can't get to it. All in all, it's a novelty to me. It's cool, looks sweet and is fun to use. I've never used it for anything that a regular gun and compressor couldn't have done. If you've got money to "waste" maybe you'll like it too. ... show more

  • 2 for 2 Defective out of the box
I don't normally leave reviews but felt I should warn others. I ordered this for a job we had that required up to 300 psi for a nail gun to attach fiber cement siding to concrete block. The price point was attractive and I liked the feature of being able to also use it for standard nail guns. The compressor had a leak in the high pressure line from the compressor head to the check valve at the storage tank. I requested a replacement from Amazon and as usual they shipped one right out. When the replacement arrived it had a leak in the exact same place. The job was already one week behind and since there was obviously a manufacturing problem I was doubtful that a new replacement would fair any better. My options were, ask for another replacement and take a chance that 2 for 2 defective out of the box was a fluke, return the second defective compressor for a refund and order the one that I probably should have at a higher price and without the ability to also use it for standard air tools or have a custom made part locally and fix it at my expense. Since the job was behind and getting a replacement would delay it further I had a local hydraulic shop make up 2 custom lines (it turned out after replacing the one from the compressor head to the check valve that the line from the tank to the regulators was also leaking. When the lines were removed it was evident that during the manufacturing process the lines were compromised when the were bent in fabrication. After spending $140.00 for parts and time to replace defective parts the compressor did work flawlessly but having to have custom parts made and installed in order to get a brand new compressor to work is not something that should need to be done. You can't leave 0 stars so I left 1. ... show more

  • Works great, but with a couple of catches
Nice and quiet, high pressure air compressor. Only complaint is that the high presser quick connect fittings are a strange size. I believe they only work with Makita tools. I swapped them out for some standard quick connect fittings. Unfortunately this was not a simple task since Makita reverse threads the holes that the fittings mount into. I looked into buying some Makita fittings but they are ridiculously expensive. Also, other people have complained that the pressure switch is set way to high when they received it, which caused failure in the pressure regulators. I didn't take any chances and set the turn-off pressure low before I turned it on for the first time. It has worked like a charm since day one, although I'm using it for a very low air flow application. I'm not sure how it performs for it's intended purpose as powering pneumatic tools. ... show more
