Description

SinkShroom is designed to fit securely inside most standard bathroom sink drains to help collect hair before it enters the pipe. The in-drain design allows water to flow freely while trapping hair around the cylinder for easy removal. This helps reduce buildup in plumbing and simplifies routine maintenance. The design also helps prevent small items such as rings or jewellery from slipping into the drain. Made for convenient installation and removal, it provides a practical solution for maintaining a cleaner sink drain.

  • Handy replacement
Color: Gray
I was shopping for a replacement for my bathroom sink drain stop when got broken. I came across the Sink Shroom during that search and decided to give it a try. At the time I bought it I was more concerned with finding something to temporarily block things from falling down the drain if accidentally dropped, but It turned out to be a handy replacement for two reasons. Not only does it fit easily to keep unwanted things out if the drain but it keeps the hair out of my drain too. My daughter and I both have long curly hair that always ends up in the drain no matter how much we try to avoid it. I used to have to use a long tool to dig those clumped up nasty strands out of the drain every week. The Sink Shroom catches those rouge hairs before they end up down deep in the drain. The middle of the Sink Shroom is a tube of sorts with holes in it that allow water to run into the tube and down the drain as the hair gets caught by the “shelf” at the bottom and wraps around the center. The top “shelf” blocks other things from going down the drain. Each week now all I do is take it out of the drain and use a Clorox wipe to pull the hair off and wipe off the Sink Shroom. 1 Star deducted because 1) over time black slime builds up. I’ve soaking overnight in bleach but it won’t come off. I ended up buy new after 1 year because I can’t stand the yuck after so long. 2) the drain empties slower then it could. This happens mainly because the bottom shelf if larger for my drain than needed. It does fit because there are strategic cuts in the silicone that allows the round shelf to bend upward on top of itself just enough to get a tight seal that fits well in my smaller drain. the bending also makes the holes in the shelf smaller due to over lap which really can slow down allowing less water to flow through. This is especially true as hair gets captured and starts to build up on the shelf. It would be nice if they could figure out a way to fix this issue as it would help eliminate a lot of the black slime that builds up too. I’d still recommend this product though. I’ll buy a new one every year if I need to. ... show more

  • Doesn’t last more then a few months
Color: Gray
I bought this because I have a TubShroom and I love it. It’s easy to use and easy to clean. Most of all, it does it’s job and it does it well. I will say the SinkShroom is easy to use. However it doesn’t catch all the hit and it starts getting moldy pretty quickly. You have to scrub and scrub it to clean it. After a while, it starts to discolor. After 6 months, I’ve decided to throw it away. I’ve included pictures. The mold is not washing off. Super disappointed. ... show more

  • Both disgusting and unhelpful
Color: Blue
My daughter has long, long hair and no drain in her sink, so this seemed like the perfect product to try. Can I say gross? Gross, gross, gross. It didn’t catch enough hair to be worthwhile but it did grow an impressive and revolting biofilm consisting of spit, toothpaste, and beauty products. I moved it to my sink and tried it there with the same slimy results. I’d return it if I hadn’t waited too long. ... show more

  • Nobel Prize Worthy
Color: White
Best buy on the intranets. There’s not many things you can purchase nowadays that are affordable, work as advertised, and function as designed right out of the box. My wife and I live in an older home on septic. Not wanting to use liquid drain cleaners, we decided to give the tub shroom a try. What a perfect solution. We were so impressed, we decided to try the sink shroom in our utility sink that our washer empties into. We use metal washing machine lint traps and I thought that they were doing a pretty good job. I have to change them out at least once a month. On a whim, we tried the shrink shroom in the utility sink. Wow! Now, the lint traps do fairly well, but I couldn’t believe what the sink shroom was picking out after the lint trap. Who knows how many years this will add to our septic system, not to mention not having to snake the drains. Today, as I am writing this, just got finished snaking the bathroom sink. Promptly ordered another sink shroom. ... show more

  • Gross black film grew on it
Color: Gray
Gross! I will stick to metal for my bathroom sink. The tub shroom worked fine but the bathroom sink one collected this gross black looking film. Despite efforts to keep clean it kept collecting the same grime. They need to upgrade to an antimicrobial product or use imbeded silver to keep it from getting disgusting. I threw it out and would not recommend it. ... show more

  • Catches hair and debris but grows bio-matter
Color: Blue
The SinkShroom catches hair and gunk, which is good, but also allows black and white mold-like substances to grow within the holes and flanges. I’m not sure of the best way to clean the thing or how to prevent the growth of the disgusting, slimy, and smelly organic matter. Another issue is that I anticipate that the little flanges at the bottom will break long before the rest of the device becomes rigid or unusable. The material there is thin and is becoming brittle. Finally, I wish the device didn’t sit quite so high in the drain. Overall, I prefer using the SinkShroom over using the regular “plug,” but tips for cleaning would help. Ideally, the material of the plug would resist bio-matter growth. ... show more

  • Really good product until it gets nasty
Color: White
I like the sink shroom as long as its new. Lasts between 1-3 months before it gets super gross, and needs replacing. You’re supposed to be able to clean them but I’ve never been able to get it satisfactorily cleaned once all hunted up with scum and mold. Before it gets to that point though it’s a great solution to a drain with no stopper/catch and it does in all fairness catch a good amount of hair, so it does it’s job. Just gets super frickin nasty after a while. I buy multiple at a time so I don’t have to constantly reorder every few months or so. ... show more
