Love the drill.

  • Great Drill
If you use this for what it's designed for. 5 stars all day. This is a drill, not a Driver. It gets a little tough to use Driving Screws into tight pilot holes, because its got too much power and no clutch so you can't dial it back much. I find that I prefer it to rip through drilling pilot holes, then use my battery powered Hitachi to drive the Screws in. Switching between the two makes jobs 3 or 4 times shorter. That being said, if you don't have a separate driver, you can certainly get by driving screws in with this guy, you just have to be more careful not to strip the head of the screw. ... show more

  • Perfectly adequate drill for homeowner/hobbyist
I've owned a copy of this drill for a few years now, and it's held up pretty well. I have not really asked it to do heavy-duty remodeling or contractor-level work, but in comparison to a Craftsman, it is holding up *much* better. Bearing and gear noise are about the same as when new. (whereas the Craftsman is obviously galling its bearings). When driving many screws (10s, but not 100s) the exhaust air gets noticeably hot, enough so that I explicitly let it cool off. That said, though, it's been good enough that I got a pair for my father for Christmas, and he uses tools _hard_. ... show more

  • Torque and Balance
I have been using this or the earlier versions of this drill in my cabinet shop for more than 20 years. I has very good balance, fits my hand well, transferring the driving weight directly down the shaft enabling me to drive 3 inch screws to pull very heavy cabinets up against the wall. When you need to hold the weight of the cabinet and drive the screw at the same time, you appreciate a balanced powerful driver that is up to the task. I wouldn't buy anything else. ... show more

  • Ok
While the drill does a good job spinning, the chuck leaves something to be desired, It continually loosened on me when i was using it with a masonry bit in concrete, something the Craftsman this replaced didn't have a problem with.
