    • Hard to Turn on, But Solid Once On. Using as a Wagner PaintEater Replacement, very happy.
This is a professional, industrial strength product, that doesn't slow down just because you're grinding away at something tough. Previously I was working with a Wagner PaintEater product, which worked well enough, and operated at a slower speed. The problem was the internal gear system was literally made of plastic, and while it was nice because it had a clutch system so it would stop spinning if too much pressure was applied... that clutch eventually burned out. That won't happen with this tool, which is designed to cut much tougher things than paint. This is a full blown cutting machine, and with a diamond blade I could cut through steel. It's awesome, and doesn't give a whip about a little paint removal. You can buy Bosch x-lock paint removal disks, or you can get a solid adapter from china to use whatever disc you want (buyer beware). I have both, both work well enough. One complaint. The power button is very, very hard to push. I'm going to put a little wd40 on it later today to see if that helps. People complain about getting blisters on their finger, and I absolutely understand why. It's very tough to turn on. Probably that is a feature, not a bug. This is a dangerous tool that should be tough to turn on, I certainly don't want my kids near it. so ... meh, I'lll live with that. Love Makita tools, every time they're a winner. ... show more
