  • What's Wrong With Me? Why Did I Fall for This?
I knew, like I know that the sun rises in the East, that this soundbar could not possibly be as good as the ratings suggest. But I was drawn in by the Siren's Song of all those glowing reviews. So I took the plunge. And surprise surprise, this thing is terrible. The first warning sign comes when you pick the thing up off your porch and marvel at how light it is. High-quality audio amps are not light. Neither are high-quality speakers. And definitely not "subwoofers," whatever that term means in the context of this product. It seems to weigh about as much as two cans of soda. And not those can-and-a-half monsters what the young folks drink these days. You can twirl the thing in your hand like a majorette's baton. And the sound quality? Put it this way: there is no way in Heaven or on Earth that this soundbar will make your television sound better unless you currently watch Hulu on an old 20-inch 4:3 Panasonic CRT-type box. Certainly the speakers built into our 10+-year-old 55 inch LG LCD are miles better. I'm not an audiophile, but I have some basic knowledge. I know what a decibel is. I understand how 120 Hz differs from 120 kHz. I know why FLAC is a better audio format than MP3. And I definitely can tell a good speaker from a bad one, when the difference is this glaringly obvious. The audio quality of this soundbar ranges from harsh and fuzzy to harsh and screechy. Throw in a little bass boost and the built-in ".1" takes you down into the "harsh and boomy" range, albeit not far. The magnets in any of the on-board speakers can't weigh more than a dime, so they can't push around much air. They're really only capable of making angry buzzing noises, like a disturbed yellowjacket hive. The three different preset EQ curves only serve to make the sound more annoying in one of three specific tonal ranges, so you can tune your disappointment to your liking. The remote is decently constructed, and the fact that it comes with a full set of audio cables is a nice touch. You don't want to find out after the fact that the HDMI cable you've had in a drawer for ten years can't carry ARC. And overall the unit is attractive, though the whole piano-black thing is just a magnet for fingerprints. These factors are why I gave the unit two stars instead of one. Here's how mad I am at myself for getting suckered into buying this thing: I'm not returning it. I knew to the very core of my being that this was too good to be true, and yet I bought it anyway. I don't deserve my 47 dollars back. I'm going to box it back up and give it to Goodwill. Then I'm going to sit in my living room and think about what I've done. Maybe next time I'll know better. ... show more

  • Great things come in small packages
The media could not be loaded. Great things come in small packages. If you are looking for a sleek looking and affordable sound bar that performs well above its weight class, this is the sound bar for you. For the price you will have a hard time finding a better acoustically performing sound bar. Combine that with an incredible packaging job inside a sharp looking box and you will be hard pressed to get a better deal than this little powerhouse of a sound bar. The cherry on top. It comes with every connection option you could possibly want. Unboxing: I was impressed with how well the unit was carefully cradled inside its packaging. Nothing infuriates me more than to have a package show up with damaged contents. Nobody wants to take responsibility and you are left doing all the leg work to get a problem fixed that you had nothing to do with. Majority did their best to make sure that never happens. The sound bar is carefully held in the center of the box by three pieces of form shaped foam. One cupping each end with one in the middle surrounding the sound bar. Giving it ample protection against the many dangers it may face along its perilous journey to your front door. Setting up and use: As mentioned above the Teton comes with just about every connection option you could ever possibly want. First off, it’s Bluetooth. Allowing you to easily link your phone or other devices to it. For hard wiring you have 4 options. 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable, RCA stereo audio cable, HDMI cable and optical cable. My favorite being the optical cable. Its thin design and small plug make hiding the wires much easier. The provided instructions make a breeze of the set up prosses. Each type of connection is matched to a color. There is a LED on the top right-hand corner of the sound bar that flashes to a different color so its easy to find the right connection you want. The remote is marked clearly making learning its functions quite simple. The LED on the sound bar blinks each time you use the remote giving you positive feedback that the signal is making it from the remote to the sound bar. I also appreciated the fact that mounting options and hardware are provided if you would like to attach the sound bar to the wall. My tv is mounted to the wall so it was a nice surprised not having to figure out some way to get the Teton sound bar up there on my own. The Majority TETON sound quality: The clarity of sound out of this bar is frankly surprising and definitely surpassing of my expectations. There are several preset settings allowing you to quickly tailor the sound to favor music, dialog, or movies. These are further customizable by the ability to adjust the bass and treble. All this gives you the ability to truly tailor the sound to your ear. The Majority TETON is only 32 inches long, giving it the ability to fit almost anywhere. You would think that its small size would adversely affect the sound quality. Definitely not the case with this little powerhouse. Deep bass and crisp vocals make this a major step up from the flat sounding tv speakers. In summary: All and all I give this sound bar a 5 out of 5. Why spend hundreds of dollars on big name brands when you can get an incredible value for your hard-earned money on this brand. Add up its good looks. Its ease of set up. Its ability to be easily mounted or set below your tv. All the options in hooking it up to your tv, phone, or other device. The crisp sound with deep bass. You are getting an incredible deal. Do what I did. Skip paying extra just for a name and go with an option that saves you money and sounds and looks amazing while doing so. ... show more

  • ARC works well except for Powering Up but Great Customer Service
UPDATE 1/6/2021 I have received GREAT customer service from this company in dealing with the issue I reported in my original review. They believe it is an issue with the particular model of TV that I have and provided me with a different model soundbar at no charge that fixed the issue. They really went above and beyond with their support and because of this I can whole-heartedly recommend their products. ORIGINAL REVIEW Got this to go with an Insignia Fire TV edition using HDMI ARC. Got it working once I figured out that it does not support Dolby Digital so I had to set audio output to PCM output (to be fair the user guide says to set to PCM). Sound quality is OK, much better than the TV, but nothing to get excited about. But then again, my expectations were not super high given its very low cost. It can get quite loud, however. Another issue is that the remote control signals cause the TV to change channels, which wouldn't be a big deal since with using ARC, I shouldn't really need to use the soundbar remote. But this brings me to the biggest issues. When I turn off the TV, the soundbar goes to sleep, which is what I would expect. But then I turn the TV back on, the soundbar doesn't turn on automatically. I have to hit the power button on the soundbar remote, which then changes channels on the TV. Very Annoying. I have contacted the company to see if there is a solution for this, but if I can't get that fixed, I may return it. ... show more
