Bought this to put on my newly installed Wall Control metal pegboard. The light sticks strongly to the pegboard, especially if it’s put on the seam where two pieces of pegboard meet. I tried it on the side of my toolbox, where the metal is a little thicker and doesn’t have holes, and the magnetic hold is impressively strong. While this is not going to light up the whole room, it does provide good lighting for a small area. I bought it so that I could work on electronics and mechanical parts on my work bench, and to be able to see inside horizontal openings (very difficult with just overhead light.) The goose neck design and the fact that I can move it around the pegboard makes it so that I can see exactly where I need to, and it frees up my hand that would normally have to hold the flashlight. The goose neck stays put however you bend it and doesn’t slump down. Overall, I’m happy with this light. ... show more

Not sure why prompted for battery life rating as plug-in. The magnet did not rip the base out of my hand when mounted to vertical steel surface but so far it stays where placed. Light is sufficiently bright.

It's bright and the magnetic bottom is tough it holds well, my problem is the fact that they lie and say their LEDs but I can assure you they are not LED lights inside because after about 30min the housing for the lights is so hot it'll burn you literally and true LEDs would be cool to the touch after 8hrs I have a work light with true LED and after being on most of the work day it's still cool to touch so if you don't mind that then I'd say buy this its not too bad for a little workshop light at home or working on a car cause of the strong magnetic base just be careful with how hot it gets ... show more
