This is a solid little magnetic phone holder. Mine weighed 4.2 ounces which is a bit on the heavy side, but considering how durable and well made this holder is, a little extra weight is expected. The two joints or "pivots" are tight enough to keep your phone in place, but easy enough to allow you to reposition without difficulty. This phone holder has two magnetic surfaces: one to mount to the back of your phone, and one to attach to your desired surface. The phone magnet is strong enough to hold your phone tightly, but is slightly more weak than the mount magnet, so when you remove your phone, the holder stays attached to the surface. The surface mount has a thin black rubber pad, so when you attach it or remove it, your surface won't get scratched. Also, this product includes so many extras. But my favorite ones were the two adhesive-backed metal plates. I have an aluminum frame that I wanted to attach my phone to, but magnets are not attracted to aluminum. But with these metal plates, I was able to attach one to the side of the aluminum and now I have a place that I can attach my phone. Two plates are included, and there are two different sizes. Also, an adhesive-backed ring was included for attaching to a phone case. THIS ring is wide and has great holding power. This phone holder isn't something that you'll be able to use like a tripod, but as a magnetic mount it is almost limitless in use.

I've been using Magnetic phone mounts for over a decade. I probably have had 3 dozen of them and many different types. I use magnets for tons of things. I golf a lot too and have drilled and mounted magnets onto a rangefinder for golf a few years before they started coming with a magnet Magnet mounts eliminate nearly all vibration in a car and I can't stand anything shaking at me on my vehicles. Any mirror that shakes drives me nuts and so does any cellphone. I've actually made this product out of two other magnets before and despite it working it always looked like a diy project gone a little right and a little wrong. I just got this and use it all the time. I set it on my door inside my garage to listen to music. I set under my hood and use my phone light to see what I'm doing. I set it on my fridge with a recipe to read. I put a plate on my dash and set it there and of course it works as it should on my golf cart. You really need this. I've got extra plates from before and I'm looking for more places to set it up. This is a great product and works as it should. I'll find more and more places for this I'm sure. I'll be ordering more for my family members.

I stick this on the side of my fridge to mount my phone while I’m cooking, since I keep all my recipes on my phone or tablet. The ball joints are really tight in this, so my phone doesn’t flop around when I position it, and the magnets are really strong, so it has no issues sliding down the fridge or with my phone falling off. Great for anyone who needs to mount their phone to a magnetic surface.

This item is exactly as described. Magnets are on both ends so you can mount your MagSafe compatible phone to any iron surface. Also included are metal plates for both a) non iPhone phones and b) non magnetic surfaces, ie. affix one of these plates to a stone, wood, drywall etc surface and now you can hang your phone there very securely. Worth it's weight in magnets!

First let me say I love the design and I’ll probably be purchasing another even though the unit I received is defective or has some issues. So my phone holder has some sort of sticky glue seeping out of the edges. It’s not hard and dried up glue. It’s still wet and tacky. I tried wiping it with goo gone and with some vigorous scrubbing the glue does come off but then more will seep up. It’s so weird. Maybe I got one hot and fresh from the factory. I placed a post it note over the sticky area to protect my phone. The magnet is very strong and hasn’t pulled out of the holder despite the glue slowly oozing out. The other magnetic end has a layer of silicone to protect whatever metal object you’re attaching it to. I like design and metal materials. The 6.99 price can’t be beat for a non defective unit. This is one of those instances where I’d take Amazon’s great return/ exchange policy and just get a new unit; unfortunately the vine program doesn’t allow that and I’m stuck with this one. Hopefully you get a good one.
