The media could not be loaded. It has been a few months now of using the Magikflame and this purchase was a tough decision having never seen one in real life. The advertising videos and pictures were done really well or photoshopped because they definitely don't reflect reality. The way this thing works is that there is a tv at roughly a 45 degree angle above a piece of glass that projects the image of the flame over the logs. It's a great idea, but there are some problems. Operation: -I don't know what TV they use but it must be a cheap one because the black of the TV is not black it's grey. Just having a true black background would make a world of difference on the illusion of the flames on the logs. You can see this in my picture I included. -The speaker sound is terrible. I could hook up a $20 bluetooth speaker and it would sound more realistic. -The glowing logs are cool and appear to be of good quality. My wife actually prefers to the turn off the Tv and just have the logs glowing. -There is an advertisement of the MagikFlame logo and sound of a tiger running in flames every time we turn it off and on. It used to happen every time for the first few weeks but now it's more sporadic so I'm sure there must be others complaining about this because it really is irritating. -You can't use the touch screen or the app to adjust the temperature setting. All you have is a turn dial located on the side of the log insert to adjust when you want the heater to kick on. Oh and you don't know what temperature that is because it doesn't tell you. So good luck figuring that out. -The mantel is really nice and is of good quality. -You have to get the logs to turn on, in sync with the TV? This first operational step is a little quirky and to be honest even after we synced it there have been periodic issues where the one would turn on without the other and be out of sync. It's not hard to fix, but should I have to? Assembly: -The installation instructions were very poor and confusing. The very first page tells you steps on what you should do later at the end before they give you any steps on what you should do first. No paragraph indentation(picture included). No clearly labeled steps 1.2.3? My 12 year old could have put together a better installation manual. -The assembly itself took a couple of hours and was not easy. There are a lot of quirky steps that you need to do to help the flame illusion look better. The glass installation itself was a pretty tricky proven by the need for a youtube video of the Magikflame glass installation. Overall, it does what it says but to spend 3k on this thing? For that amount of money I expected more. Heck, I could've bought a used car with more features, a Macbook or gone on a vacation with the family for 3k. If I had seen this in the stores at that price, I probably would have passed. ... show more

I ordered and had this shipped to Philippines. Assembly of the mantle is easy to do. The mantle has a nice finish. However, there's a small damage on one of the panels. See picture. Had a tough time installing the glass hologram. It took two of us to install the glass. I had to put the glass inside and lift it all the way up and then put the logs in. If not, its impossible for me to put the glass with the logs inside already. Plus, I have to use an allen wrench to carefully screw the screw in because its impossible to use my fingers to screw it in. Am glad after all this tinkering, the glass didn't break. The Philippines is 220v. Am glad that theres more than enough space inside the mantle to put a transformer. Once everything was in place and installed, the quality of the fire and the logs are amazing. Very realistic. The IOS app connects very fast and works way much better and more responsive than the actual built-in touch screen. Overall, am very satisfied with my purchase, except for the small damage on the panel. I still highly recommend this product. ... show more

Relatively easy to assemble until you get to the glass panel, which was quite challenging. Aesthetically I’m disappointed with the fact that the glass is on an angle. Are you thinking “gosh that looks like some guys reflection” - that’s because it is. This poorly made “fireplace” uses a subpar Westinghouse flat screen and a piece of glass to provide this virtual look. Problem is actually two fold with this: 1) it looks like cheap junk and 2) the computer board is so poorly designed that the touch screen interface is non responsive and the app is incapable of communicating effectively with the receiver. I’ve spent so much time dealing with the customer service department in my year of having (regretfully) purchased this thing that “Howard from MagikFlame” is in my contacts. Yep - Howard. The one person who apparently knows how to make these things work... or rather to stop malfunctioning just enough to keep me from throwing the entire thing out. Avoid this overpriced gimmick at all costs - or purchase at your own risk knowing that it’s going to look bad, perform worse, and you’ll have no shot of ever getting a return authorization or your money back... I know because I’ve been trying since February of 2020... ... show more

    • Flames are realistic
We love the fireplace. Easy to put together with the instructions and the flames are so real. We put a metal screen on the front when our grandchildren are over because the glass is right there and if the grandchildren throw something it could break the glass. We can easily remove when they are gone, but you can see fire through screen. We have had some problems with programming, but are working with company on that. ... show more
