Why does my Magician2 Mini make a loud vibrating noise when it starts brewing? Unlike standard low-pressure drip or K Cup brewers, it uses a 20-bar high-pressure system for rich espresso extraction. This coffee maker is fantastic and compact! At home I use a espresso machine and I'm a "coffee snob" according to my husband. I bought this Magician2 to use at work. I'm not usually a fan of K-cups, but using them in this machine with the pre-soak feature actually makes the coffee taste great! And I also love the option of being to make Nespresso style espresso. I have used ground coffee in it too, but it makes a bit of a mess. I'm going to try using paper filters for that to see if it helps. Some reviews I read said the machine was loud and leaked water. This machine does make more noise then a drip coffee maker, but it is absolutely not loud, especially not louder than a espresso making machine. And I have had no issue with it leaking water. You do definitely want to wait to take your cup out for a few seconds after it brews. The machine tells you when it's finished. I have very much enjoyed using this so far! It makes really great coffee and there are so many options. It's totally worth the price and when you register it online with the company you get a great warranty. ... show more

I had high hopes for this machine because we like using both Nespresso pods and K cups, but I regret my purchase overall. For K cups it only makes 6 oz at a time with no option for 8 or 10 oz. Not a full cup of coffee in my opinion (and making another 6 feels wasteful and doesn’t fit in all my mugs). I am not sure why, but the taste is a little funky (and I’m using the same cups as my last machine). I always have to put it in the microwave too, as it never seems hot enough. The Nespresso pods the machine takes are the small ones. It was hard to find those in coffee (not espresso) but I did and was excited to brew a cup of that. However, the machine only reads that type of pod as espresso, so you can only brew a very small amount for each pod. Very wasteful and not very tasty. So we’ll limp by with this machine for a bit, but I see upgrading to something else soon. ... show more

Just got this coffee maker after looking endlessly for the perfect one. I have a galley kitchen with limited counter space and it's only for me. This coffee maker is perfect..the water reservoir is smaller than expected...but for 1 person fine. I have 1 8oz. cup a day and I get 3-4 cups before filling the reservoir up again(for a family..🤷♀️) It's easy to navigate and no problems with brewing..takes a minute to start dripping. It is a LITTLE louder than i expected but not enough to be annoying! 😆 I really like the look of it..black body with chrome around the edges..and i SUPER love that the controls are facing you..not on top..so you don't have to stand on tip toe to see them! The height is much smaller than i expected. But is is a smaller footprint than others which i love. Also love being the only person to use it..the settings stay the same cup after cup..which is nice. I use k-cups and the coffee is great tasting. All in all...very happy! Hopefully it will last!😆 Just one more note..some people mentioned the dripping afterwards...it does say in the manual that that is normal due to pressure release. But I found that after the HOD button disappears(which your supposed to wait so you don't get burned from the water dripping)I pulled out the tray with the Kpod in it and emptied it. I noticed that the dripping stopped immediately after that. Otherwise it does a SLOW drip for a few minutes. Which i don't like😆. ... show more

Here's an honest review from a frustrated buyer. It was a hard decision between buying another mostly-American made/designed Ninja coffee maker and this made in China Magician2. Another similar model of this had leaking issues reported so I was hesitant to buy it. But I wanted a smaller machine and loved that this could do K-cup, Nespresso original capsules, ground, Dolce, and espresso pods. It was supposed to make it easy on everyone in the house to enjoy their preferred drink and to save space. However reality set in. First off, the small water tank gets annoying quick if you'll use it multiple times a day (also mentioning that it has a strange folding hinged lid that blocks half of the access to it making water filling and cleaning awkward, and yes the water tank does detach from the unit but make sure it's empty it leaks water out because the plunger doesn't hold it in). My 16oz mug, even though it fits underneath the spout, is a tight fit and always would bump the spout when placing it on the cup stand it needs just a tiny bit more clearance. The many attachments gets annoying having to take them in and out and clean them as each person needs, you'll need somewhere to put them since they come out dripping. Speaking of dripping, another annoyance is that this machine, no matter which coffee adapter is used, drips more after it's done brewing than any machine I've ever used in my life for a couple minutes. So you'll need a cup to slide under it after you take your cup away. Then there's the warming up issue. You have to hit the power button to turn on the machine. It then takes about 40 seconds for it to warm up and you can't do anything but wait for it to reach that point before you can push any other buttons. For me, especially busy in the mornings trying to get ready... hitting that button, then going off to do other things... if more than a few minutes passes you have to start the 40 second warm-up process all over again. It sounds silly but it has literally taken me 30+ minutes at times to just make a cup of coffee having to warm it up multiple times and missing the couple minute brew window. They need to change it so that it brews automatically after it warms up, instead of having to wait 40 seconds and then make your selection. The standing in front of it for 40 seconds waiting for it to warm up so you can then make your brew selection gets ridiculous, and I've never had to do that on any other machine. It's just annoying if you are juggling multiple tasks in the morning. For those wondering, YES you can use resusable K-cups though it might be style dependent. The one I used bought from this site said it was compatible with Keurig 1 and 2 and had the single hole in the middle (and no side tabs). It worked great, and I paired it with disposable k-cup filters with lids to make cleanup easy. Works great for using your own grounds, moreso than using the included grounds adapter where you tamp down your grounds. The grounds adapter works perfectly if you use the soft teabag style coffee pods (the Senseo style ones like from Baronet, Good as Gold, Wolfgang Puck, etc). They are easy cleanup. A very important detail left out in the product description, is that you can ONLY choose above 10oz (up to 14oz) if using the K-cup adapter. None of the other adapters allow you to make a selection above 10oz (it just resets back to 0.8 oz and you have to cycle through all of the many size options again beeping each button press which is annoying). That size limitation to me is an unadvertised deal killer, plus it's annoying having to hit the button a dozen times to cycle through all the size options. And to be picky, the font they used for the size sits too close to the temperature reading, so it looks like one long number. Then when you hit brew, the pump is ridiculously loud. Enough to wake people up. That's with all adapters so it's not espresso exclusive. I'd also question the "20 bar" claim for espresso, it doesn't taste anywhere near as strong as my unit that has the clamp down handle on it. It's not bad, just nowhere near the quality of a real espresso machine. No pump should be this loud, your coffee machine isn't meant to wake the house up from noise. If the manufacturer would make this unit even an inch taller so you don't bang your mug, dampen the excessive noise, let you choose a size above 10z for all brews, get the after-drips under control, fix the requirement to wait 40 seconds for it to warm up every time you want to use it before you can press any buttons, and maybe even add an auto-brew setting, it would be a machine that would rival Ninja's best. This machine has too many annoyances for me, it has made making coffee harder and more annoying which is the opposite of my goal. It might be good for someone in a dorm with very limited space, but the loud pump noise and having to store many adapters might get frustrating. Initially I bought the Warriors 1 model and returned it: very limited temperature and cup sizes. Once it finished brewing I had to get the cup into the microwave for a decent enjoyable temperature. I loved this Magician 2 model. It is a beautiful and compact design, with great set up flexibility through digital controls; you can simply set up the exact amount of liquid ounces and the temperature you want (up to 200 F). It does the job perfectly and I have been using it mostly with ground coffee. I have been using it every day for more than a months. The only flaw so far is that I wish it was faster in dispensing the coffee but I think this is a commons flaw in all espresso makers. ... show more

disappointed with how small the water capacity is, once or twice push button to make coffee but it did not work, both times got me concerned I might have to return it or get another one. But as of now it is still working. Only tried K pod, but have bought some of the others and will be trying them.

So far so good. When I got it I wasn't aware that each type of capsule or coffee grounds option required a different slightly bulky adapter (included). They are easy to use, they just take up space in a drawer or cabinet.
