UPDATE #2- 1.5 years after purchase it still works flawlessly- Would purchase again! UPDATE: 6 months into using this machine quite regularly and it’s working like a champ. Zero issues whatsoever. I’ll report longevity as time progresses. But so far I’m more than happy with this purchase. I’m using it to make all of my animals dehydrated beef treats. Units paid for itself already in the money I’ve saved never having to buy treats Despite some pretty left field bad reviews, I took a chance and ordered this magic mills 11 tray dehydrator and couldn’t be happier so far. Within one month I’ve used it quite a bit making beef jerky and this thing takes WAY less time than my cheapie plastic one I was using One reviewer said this thing didn’t have Vents and therefore couldn’t possibly be a dehydrator. Ummmmm. The door is purposely designed to not seal therefore creating a vent and there’s vents literally on the side of the unit as well. Not sure what planet that person was from to not realize this!? Add yes! It’s heavy! Duh. It’s an 11 tray machine built out of stainless’ steel. What would you expect? There’s no on off switch and display always stays powered up. Who cares!?, unplug it when you’re done and put it away. This machines way too big to leave out of your counter anyway. Unless you like wasting counter space I don’t see why it matters if there’s an On off switch Some of these negative reviews are just comical At the end of the day we’ll see how long it lasts. If it lasts nearly as long as my $99 plastic one I’ll be happy. There’s not much to these machines besides a heating element and a fan. So If the heating element fails I’m sure there’s a replacement for it out there somewhere on the internet I’ll be able to find All in all, I’m happy with my decision to purchase this machine. And I’m not an easy person to please when it comes to expectations of products. I was aggravated that it went On same for $60 less than my original purchase price and it’s nonsensical that Amazon makes you RETURN the unit and then repurchase it at the sale price. But I jumped through their hoops and saved $60 after my original purchase. So they’d rather eat the shipping fees on this HEAVY unit going BACK and then sending ANOTHER unit back to me rather than just simply refunding the sale price cost difference. Makes no sense

This is a great dehydrator. I use it a lot and I like it a lot. It looks great. It’s easy to clean. The controls are easy and fast to operate. The temperatures are accurate. It’s very quiet. I highly recommend this dehydrator. It’s almost perfect. Whoever designed this didn’t R&D this and didn’t think it thru. The fan in the back of the unit does a great job of moving the air, but the air is blown unevenly over the trays because of the fan hub in the middle of the unit. In front of the hub there is little to no air movement so the food items on the center racks do not dehydrate evenly. On the center rack, the center third is still moist when the left and right thirds are finished dehydrating. The dehydration margins are gradient, so it is difficult to separate the dehydrated foods from the hydrated foods on the center rack. See my picture for an illustration of the fan hub in the back of the rack and a top view of the center rack and how the foods are unevenly dehydrated. There is a very simple and inexpensive fix to the design miss. Place a spiral louvre plate over the fan opening. That will swirl the air around the box instead of linear uneven air movement. I may make my own plate, but in the meantime I just use 8 racks instead of 11 and leave the center racks out. I’m happy with doing that to make it work but I shouldn’t have to when there is such an easy design fix. I still gave this five stars because I like it and continue to use it so much. If you need a good quiet dehydrator, buy it. You will be happy too. Update: The racks are about 1/4” off of square. It’s difficult to know how to orient the racks it load them. Hit and miss. Frustrating. Square racks would have been much smarter.

This was a replacement for an American Harvest drier I had for years. This is a good unit. I really like the stainless trays, they are a cinch to clean. It seems to be a well constructed unit. The appearance is atractive enough to keep it on the counter. However, I would have given it 5 stars if it had an on/off switch/button or an auto off feature so the display would go off. The drying time was as expected.

We love drying fruit and this has worked perfectly. The instructions were easy to follow. The quality of the unit is outstanding considering the price! Noise level is low. This dryer works as well as my son's dryer and he paid quite a bit more.
