I work at a place that used to sell the Boogie Board, another LCD writing tablet. Because I have an employee discount, I could buy one for a fairly reasonable price (for a Boogie Board, they were retailed around $40). I use it for a memo pad at my home computer desk. Fast forward a few years, I get a second job, where note taking is crucial. I can easily go through a stack of sticky notes. After a week, I start bringing my Boogie Board to work. After another week, I started looking for something to replace the Boogie Board. Enter THIS. So what are the differences? Well, I like this better. And it is WAY cheaper. Let's get into details. The boogie board stylus is attached to a clip you slide onto the board, which then lets you attach to the wall. This makes the Boogie Board a little clumsy to move around, because it's hard to slide the clip on and off all the time, making the stylus easy to lose. And if you keep the clip on, you aren't writing on a flat surface. On THIS pad, the stylus nests right into the board, making it easy to keep track of while creating a flat surface The Boogie Board does not have a locking function. THIS does. The quality of writing for both is the same. They respond to the same pressure, with the same visibility, and erase just as well, Though after a few years, my Boogie Board shows signs of scratches. There is only one way in which the Boogie Board is better. When writing on this tablet, there's the very slight feeling that I'm writing on a soft, top layer, and sometimes in my mind I'm expecting to see it wrinkle. Of course, it doesn't. The boogie board surface is very hard and firm, giving it just a little leg up for durability. Otherwise, don't spend the money. This is just as good, if not better.

[Review updated on 12/10/19; UPGRADED from 3 stars to 5 stars] I purchased 10 Black + 10 Blue of these tablet for classroom of 3-4 year olds. All of the concerns I had reported earlier - which were specific to the blue version - have been addressed with the newest version of the blue tablet. With the latest blue tablet: * They now have lock-protection switch * The writing on the blue model is as thick and easy to view, as the black version * In fact, I felt that color-shade of the writing on the blue tablet has slightly better visibility * The erase button worked flawlessly I want to give a huge shoutout to 'Aonuo' (seller) for improving the user experience and ensuring the product exceeds expectations. [Disclaimer: I was provided with the latest version of the blue tablet at a discount for re-review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced in any way]

I predict these will only get more and more popular. It’s stumping me how they work! You can draw or write anything and with the push of the erase button it’s gone. It’s got to save so much paper!!!!! The battery says it lasts up to 20,000 erases and there’s a lock button in case you’re working on something you won’t want to erase!

I Bought this for an easy way for my Kids to doodle in long car rides or play games or practice spelling words and I’m impressed with how much they really love this! They are constantly grabbing it to draw or play and it’s so nice not to have papers all over my car or crayons.

The media could not be loaded. I bought these tablets for my grandchildren for Christmas and they did like them and use them several times mine do not excessive use. However today, The pink one completely stopped working. We can draw on it but it will not erase. It’s bad to make a product that won’t last a year. Obviously I can’t return it as the return window is past. For this reason alone I would say pass on this product (unless they decide to replace it for me). If so, I will gladly change this to a 5- star rating because we liked it when it worked. :)

I bought this for my son to draw on after a friend introduced me to LCD tablets and he loves it. This tablet is sturdy. I mean, my kid abuses this thing and it still works. He steps on it, stands on it, places his seat on it and then sits down in the seat, I find it burried under toys, the dog has been seen laying on it (she weighs 62 pounds), he's let it 'walk' down the stairs, he spilt a peach cup onto it, it's done PLF's off the kitchen table. My son is two and he 100 percent approves of this tablet.

I have wanted a Boogie board (writing tablet) since I was a kid and saw them first. Somehow 15 years later they are still the same price. This is literally the exact same thing, way more light weight with, I can only assume, a somehow inferior battery. (I have only had it a week) So far we have used this for the grocery list, writing down a dog medicine schedule, and other things. This will also be a gift for my nephew as I think this would make a great white board replacement with none of the mess and other things. If not, it can be a great tool for other purposes. For the price, this is a great deal and such an awesome item, cant rave enough!

I use this everyday for notes that I do not need saved. I am a finance counselor and need to jot down random info all day but I like to save paper so this is perfect. I love that it has an attached thin cover. I only use damp cloth to clean because everything else leaves a residue and any kind of bump is going to affect writing. The tool is quite special as it has a slightly round end and is slightly flexible plastic to avoid scratching. I have yet to find anything other tools that work as well on this device.
