First off, this blanket has a more refined look than the standard more casual looking waffle weave. I think the tighter weave might also be less prone to pilling and snagging. The weight is perfect and the seafoam color complimented our seafoam color walls beautifully. This is by no means a warm blanket and I didn't want it to be. I live in South Florida where I usually just sleep under a sheet during summer but after summer I need just a little bit more but certainly not something too heavy. This blanket was thinner than other cotton waffle weave blankets we've purchased in the past so I was pleasantly surprised when I go it. My goal was to buy the lightest weight blanket I could get. Because it is cotton and not synthetic it is very breathable not leaving you sweaty or clammy by morning. Very soft yet durable. The color is the same as shown. The size is good. It does shed a bit when first washed but it is not too bad and is expected to a certain extent. I like that it is lightweight yet still keeps you warm.

This blanket has a serious flaw. The threads are virtually impossible to keep from snagging or pulling, even with the most gentle of care. It's very frustrating because I love the look and feel of this blanket. It's extremely light weight and perfect for summer nights if you need to sleep with just a light and airy blanket on top of you. Unfortunately, the more you touch this blanket the worse it looks. Because of this issue I can only use this as a bed runner on top of my white duvet but every morning when I need to straighten it or refold it, I somehow manage to snag and pull a few threads. I will also mention that I don't have long or acrylic nails and pay very special attention when folding it. I'm not a sewing or fabric specialist but I have to assume this is a quality issue. I'm honestly afraid to wash it. I was hoping this would be a good alternative to my old basket weaved Pottery Barn blanket but not even close. I wouldn't recommend unless you are using this blanket for asthetic purpose and won't be handling often. Pros: It is soft and light and the white was definitely a bright and clean color white. I will give this blanket 4 stars for softness and 5 stars for being lightweight as those are not the reasons for my overall low rating. Cons: Awful quality of stitching and/or type of thread. The material does not hold up even when handled with the most gentle care. I gave the blanket 1 star for sleep quality because you could technically sleep with it but like I mentioned, I don't see how the threads would last if used nightly. ... show more
