I have mixed feelings about this bike - does it get my kid around, legally? Yes. Are the parts high quality? No. First, the little bolts that hold the motor hub onto the wheel shook out, and finding the size of those bolts for replacement was next to impossible - these were factory standard, and not anything we had to install ourselves. The factory assembly is pretty shotty overall. I did reach out to customer service about this issue, fearing the motor had been damaged in the process, and they sent me whole new motor, albeit it was cracked and unusable. At least I got replacement screws? Second, although this bike is marketed to be a "wheelie" bike, by wheelie-ing, you are essentially shaking every screw and bolt loose every time the bike comes down from the wheelie. If the company used any sort of loctite to fasten screws, it was very weak and ineffective. I make my son do a bolt/screw check every two weeks to make sure the bike isn't going to come apart on him. Last, the steering post was loose, which caused the front tires to wobble when braking... more factory assembly shottiness. I had to enlist the help of my father, a bonified mechanic, to take apart the steering column and try to tighten everything up to fix the wobble. If you do purchase the bike, which I would caution, I would highly recommend getting upgraded titanium bolts and using loctite to install them. The bike comes with some cheap tool with allen wrenches, but all of the nuts/bolts that are factory provided are aluminum and very prone to stripping. ... show more
