Got this docking station for my wife to set up her office workspace, and overall it’s been working well for her needs. The size is pretty reasonable. It’s probably not something you’d want to carry around all the time, but it doesn’t take up too much space on a desk either. The build quality also feels solid. It has pretty much all the ports she needs. We’ve got the monitor, keyboard, mouse, ethernet, and a couple of USB devices all connected at the same time, and it handles everything without any problems. So far, we haven’t run into any major issues during regular use. All the peripherals are recognized and work as expected. There was one time when the screen went black, but reconnecting it fixed the issue pretty quickly. One small thing to keep in mind is that it uses two Thunderbolt ports and the built-in cable is a bit short. Because of that, its position on the desk is somewhat fixed, which can make cable management and overall setup a little less flexible. The power adapter is also on the larger side, so that’s something to consider when arranging your workspace.

The Ivanky 12-in-3 FusionDock is just what my daughter needed for her MacBook. She needed several ports, and this has enough for her to connect it to another screen and other devices that she uses in college. She is doing her musical education degree and needs several devices to make her music videos. She can connect what she needs and get the videos she wants, and everything she uses is compatible with the FusionDock. It's very easy to connect, and everything stays connected while using. She hasn't had any problems with it; it works fast and neatly. It's portable thanks to its small size, convenient and efficient. She sometimes travels from campus to the house, and she can bring her stuff. Competitive price, very worth it!

I got this dock after struggling with several other dock solutions. My main problem was consistent performance. They usually worked fine until they decided not to. I definitely recommend this for a MacBook-based workstation. This is the best dock I've tried for under $200, and it even beats out the more expensive ones I've tried. This dock works great. It has never failed, glitched, refused to connect, or really done anything other docks have done. It just works. It allows my 2016 MacBook to drive my 2 2560x1440 monitors at 75fps with no issues. It charges the MacBook quickly and steadily while also being able to easily charge another power-hungry device (I usually plug in my external battery bank to the 18W USB-C port, and sometimes my iPhone if I want a quick charge). There is a rather large power adapter that comes with this dock, but I was easily able to hide that beneath my desk with all the ones from other devices. It's a shame the product images on Amazon don't show this adapter because it could be a problem if you're not expecting such a large additional device. The Dock itself is a good size and has plenty of accessible ports. The one complaint I have about the ports is the lack of USB 2.0. Albeit, that's ONLY because macOS doesn't recognize 3rd party keyboards through 3.0 when at the login screen (that's the one after bootup, not the lock screen). It can however recognize keyboards connected through 2.0. IDK why... I have been pleasantly surprised by all of the iVANKY's products I've purchased. I expected them to be low quality since they do fall on the cheaper side of their respective categories, but all of their products are made of good quality materials, do their job well, and have an attention to detail that I appreciate. My only other slight issue would be the full-coverage rubber pad on the bottom. Unfortunately, because the weight of this relatively light device is spread out evenly across the entire bottom, there isn't much grip on my plastic-coated desk. It occasionally slides around when plugging/unplugging cables. I think the design would work better with 4 small rubber feet to focus the pressure in a smaller surface area. Again, a small complaint... It doesn't impact my opinion on this device as a whole.

Mar 2024 Update - Work funded a 2nd one and it is supporting my 16" M2 Pro. These really are the perfect hub for these laptops. October 2023 Update - Still rocking. This is an outstanding dock for my 2021 MBP. No issues at all, display support is fantastic. Nov 2022 Update - Ivanky replaced the dock and thus far no issues with port failures. Support was very responsive and friendly. Oct 2022 Update - Generally still feel good about this, especially given how expensive the competitors are in this space. Just one issue, and it is an annoying one: random ports will just stop working. Tonight it was my 2nd HDMI port. In previous times it has been a USB C port or a USB 3 port. A reset of the adapter will sometimes resolve the problem. Other times it requires a reboot of the Mac. Either way, it is a nuisance but at least I have a workaround. I've submitted a support ticket in hopes of a solution or replacement. We'll see. At first I bristled at the idea of Ivanky's connector taking up BOTH of my TB4 ports. I was willing to give it a try IF it would give me great support for my 2 LG Ultra Gear 32" 165hz displays. These are both HDMI 2 connections and it clocks in at 144hz per display (max for the Mac, I believe due to DisplayPort 1.4 compatibility issues). Both displays look great and I love the dock's feel for the additional ports. For every other dock the only way I got that was with a separate TB4 connection for the display. This is a first impression, but I'll update after a few months.

My old Macbook Pro finally reached the end of it's life, so it was time for an upgrade. I really wanted to get one of the new M1 Pro Macbooks, but was concerned with finding a dock that would be compatible with both the new laptop and my TESmart KVM switcher. After looking at tons of video and written reviews, I decided to give the iVANKY a shot. First, the good. Most importantly, it works! I have had zero issues with both of my external monitors connecting and reconnecting while switching through the KVM switcher. My external hard drive (G Technologies) and Focusrite audio interface also work flawlessly through the iVANKY. The unit is also build like a tank. It doesn't feel cheap at all, like some other docks I've tried in the past. Delivery was also super quick. I ordered it around 3pm and had it at my door by 10am the next morning. Now, the bad. These are minor things mostly, and the good greatly outweighs the bad, but enough to keep it from being a 5-star product. First, though the unit is physically built well, the design is not perfect. The cable that connects to your laptop really should be on the other side of the unit. The only double USB-C ports are on the left side of the MBP, yet the connection cable on the iVANKY comes out of the right side. This kind of prevents you from having the network port facing the back. Also, the power supply that comes with the unit is larger than the dock itself! I'm happy to have ample power, but how is it larger than the power supply for my actual laptop? Lastly, the audio output port is very noisy. It picks up a bunch RF interference which is noticeable if nothing is playing or something is playing at low volume. I may have to just use the MBP output if it becomes too annoying. Again, my main concern was functionality, and the iVANKY functions without a hitch in my setup. The negatives are mainly minor inconveniences that I can work around or get over. All in all, this is a quality unit that is well worth the price, especially compared to some of the higher end (and currently unavailable) competitors.

I usually don't write these reviews but figured this one was worth writing since I got to use this product for literally less than one hour. I was looking for something easy to connect and use. I read several reviews for this. I liked what a read overall and decided to give this a try, guess everything is worth a try. Unfortunately this was not a good try. I followed all directions when setting this up. After setting the docking station up, plugging in the power cord, plugging in my monitors and laptop and then starting everything up I was pleasantly surprised, everything worked with a click of a button. I even bought a wirelss keyboard so I could just use the monitors and keep my laptop closed while at my desk. Was so excited I was able to find something that was compatible with my apple laptop. So once I seen that this was going to work I went ahead and shut everything down and then unplugged everything and then actually set everything up (had to test everything to ensure it worked before hiding all those ugly cords behind my desk) and replugged everything back in and restarted it all back up there was NOTHING!! I no power to the docking station. The power cord had a light on to it but the docking station did not have a power light on it. so I went ahead and unplugged eveything and replugged it all back in and rebooted everything, I also reset the power strip thinking maybe there was a glitch with this as well. AGAIN NOTHING!! There is power going to the power cord because the power cord box is lit up but the there is no power going to the docking station. I have tried everything and can not get it to work so needless to say it is going back. SO back to the drawing board to find something that will work. Literally got to use it for ONE HOUR before it stopped working. So DISAPPOINTED!!!!

This is a very nicely built iVanky USB-C hub. Packaging is reminiscent of an apple product, nice unboxing experience, well packaged. Product itself is solid, nice heft to it. Power brick is hefty as well. With this hub, the dual USB connector provides power to the Macbook as well as 4 USB 3.0A ports 2 on the back and 2 on the front, Micro SD and SD cards, 3.5mm audio out a USB C port AND the USB-C PD port is a nice quick charger that provides power delivery. I hooked up my phone to it and quick charging works. Ethernet port on the back as well. What's also nice with this type of hub is that it provides power directly instead of having to hook up your macbook charger to it as a passthrough and will provide power for other devices. And unlike larger docks, it is also small enough to toss in a backpack as needed. Personally I use this as a desk docking station and have the portable 7 port iVanky hub for travel. Build quality like I said is solid, the housing has a very nice glossy piano black finish. Everything is plug and play, ethernet, HDMI, audio, everything is detected automatically. I've tested this on 2 different Macbooks, a 2020 16 inch Macbook Pro with dGPU (intel version) with MacOS Catalina and on a 2017 Macbook Pro 13 inch with MacOS Mojave. The thing that I normally check for with any kind of hub or docking station device that is how display signals are handled. And what I like most about this docking station is that it sends HDMI at 4K 60Hz in native mode. In the pictures attached, on the 16 inch MBP with dGPU all 3 display signals are native MacOS On the 13 inch because it doesn't have a dGPU, the iGPU handles 2 native and the other 4K signal is non-native. Also bear in mind Catalina vs Mojave. But overall, this dock is great for the price, great quality, plenty of ports and a good alternative to other ones in a higher price bracket. iVanky has always delivered high quality products at competitive pricing and this is no different.
