This phone holder is exactly what I needed for my new car. It looks and feels like a high-end, top quality piece of gear, and is surprisingly inexpensive. I have a car where the design of the dash and interior leaves almost no room for other types of phone mounts (Mercedes GLC). I saw a version of this mount on the Weather Tech site, I almost bought it, but decided $45 was too much for a device to hold my phone in the car. Yikes! This mount is similar, but a much better value. It adjusted easily to my cup holder, taking just a few twists that expand the base to just the right size. It is sturdy and easily holds my iPhone 8 in place (with case). It could hold a much bigger phone, so you plus phone people could use it, too. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Less than $20! Works good in my F150. I can still fit a drink in the other cub holder with no issue. My phone does have a Otter Box case. The width of the clamp on the holder is fine (opens wide), but the clamp arm could be a litter bigger. The pad section that grips the phone is not as big when phone has a case. Purchased 3 of the MCUPMP, for 3 vehicles. First 2 installed flawlessly. Third unit broke on initial install. When expanding it to fit a STANDARD sized cup holder, a loud 'snap' sound was heard and it would not expand further, making for a loose fit. Amazon immediately sent a new item. Replacement piece ALSO broke on first install, in the very same manner! Meanwhile, the first 2 units need constant readjustment, as they become loose in their cup holders. Second item broke yesterday, from the identical symptom. All 3 pieces seem so flimsy, am fearful to trust my phone to be placed in them! Not much value in a product if you are afraid to use it. All three will be moved to my recycle bin!! ... show more

Exceeds expectations! Mounting is easy and very secure. Drop in cupholder and twist the knob until its tight--rubber edges prevent scuffs and scratches. Phone cradle is also very secure. Looks like neoprene slip proof rubber on the back and sides--again, makes a very secure connection while preventing scuffs and scratches to your phone. Place your phone on the holder and squeeze the size bars/clips until tight...to release simply press the button on back and it releases. Easily adjusts to both iphone 5 and 6s, but I'm positive it will accommodate larger phones. This holder works with phones in cases (some do not, I found out the hard way.) Also, I have battery case on my phone which makes it considerably bigger and heavier (about 1/4" to each side and the top and about 3/8" to the back and bottom) but it holds my phone with ease! Super happy with this holder and would definitely recommend to family and friends. ... show more

Disclaimer: I received pre-payment offer for one of these on the promise that I’d review it. I’ve been wanting a phone/cup holder and in my haste, purchased this BEFORE the pre-payment. These guys (“Jim”) put the money into my PayPal account anyway and asked for a review in 5-7 days. Here’s the review. The package felt heavy. Too heavy for a plastic phone/cup holder. I mistook “solid” for “heavy”. This 2-piece Mcally unit is solid. “Flimsy” does not belong anywhere near its description. I have a Galaxy Note 9 with an Otter Box Defender case which usually fits nothing. But the Macally grips it easily and securely. It’s the right height and is solid enough that it doesn’t vibrate, shake, or wobble. The holder made by the floormat guys costs over twice (2x to 4x) as much and has a poorer design. Theirs changes cup sizes by removing or adding actual cup sleeves until you find the best fit. You have to store the sleeves and remember where – in case your next car has larger cup holders. With the Mcally, it itself expands or contracts by turning the knob ensuring a tight, correct fit every time. There’s no extra parts to store or lose. I first saw this idea on The Weather-Tech website and did a search. I was pleased to find this one at a much lower cost. It seems to be very well made and it easily adjusts to any cup holder size. It has a very stiff bendable shaft to adjust the positioning of the phone so it will stay in place. It also will adapt to any sized phone. I got this for my wife and she carries her phone in a wallet type case. It fits in this holder without removing the phone. ... show more

What impressed me most about this product was their customer service. I received my product and while assembling it, I somehow stripped the opening gears on the cradle. I wasn't going to say anything and just use it, as is, because it was my fault. However they ent me two emails about my satisfaction of the product. The first, I ignored, but the second time I explained what I had done, and they asked for a picture and upon receiving this they sent me a new cradle. Unbelievable! It worked perfectly. I would most definitely recommend this company, they went out of their way to make sure I was 100% happy.     • Easy to use, and very effective
I wanted something to make for hands free cell phone use, and I wanted the product to be out of the box ready and simple to use. This is perfect. No adjustments, no putting part A and part B together. Just drop it into your cup holder, hit the button that makes the width adjustable and drop your phone into the holder. I did not want something too obvious stuck to my windshield with huge suction cups, or that needed to be threaded into the vent system. This keeps my phone safe, my hands on the wheel, and is simple to just lift out if not using my phone to drop an extra cup of coffee into the holder instead.
