I needed two new bulbs to replace expired ones and decided the third bulb which was still good would become a backup in case something happened. So, I bought three and installed all of them into ceiling can receptacles. They aren't brighter than what had been installed before, but the whiter color made them seem so. That's something I really like about LED lighting - the color choice. They are steady in luminance and are obviously going to be energy savers because I switched from incandescent to LED. As to longevity, all I can go by is the purported time. When they say they'll last 10 years and I've just installed them a week ago, there is nothing I can say that would be accurate. I bought these to replace old Phillips bulbs. Comparing the lumens and brightness temperatures these looked like a good fit. I wanted bulbs that were just a little brighter, and the warm white options at that brightness level seemed limited. The packaging and construction quality are very good. The increased brightness was just right for my kitchen. It was also great that the illumination was not as spotty as the previous bulbs and had a much more continuous spread across the countertop. I thought that I had to live with uneven lighting when using spotlights, but the spread of these bulbs was perfect. If your application is to very tightly light an individual art piece, this might not be your bulb. My old bulbs were very warm colored, and the shift to a more natural white was noticeable but not shocking. After a couple weeks the color seems normal and good. Love the 2700k color. Love the shape and size and how they look in my range hood. BUT even though they are rated dimmable, they flicker on the "Low" light setting on my range hood. Since they are 50 watt equivalents, a bit higher than the 40s I had, I thought I'd use the low setting more often. But the flicker is headache-inducing. So I guess I will be using these on high all the time. Another thing: I only needed 2 bulbs and they last 25000 hours, so a 2-bulb package would be good. ... show more
