I was under the impression you get a massage but it just puts pressure on your hand and releases it. I personally didn't get anything out of it, so it depends what you are looking for, really.

Well worth the money. Bought this for a family memeber who suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome but I use it more. It's surprising how well this machine works. Several settings to set to your liking. The combination of heat, massager, acupuncture, and pressure helps take the pain away. It will leave small indentations in your skin from the acupuncture but they go away after a few minutes. ... show more

I have rheumatoid arthritis and my left wrist is ate up with it. I have played golf my entire life until 2 years ago when this rheumatoid arthritis was diagnosed. This disease has prevented me from being able to play golf for two years until recently. I do take meds for this, but they do not help enough for the inflammation in my wrist to play golf. I have tried all the supplements out there with zero help. I have a coworker that uses that athletic tape for his knee, so I purchased some KT tape to try. Wow! Highly recommend it! It allowed enough compression around the painful areas of my wrist to be able to swing a club again. Elated to have this work for me after two years of nothing working for me. So after golf I wanted to have some sort of compression treatment to relax while watching football or whatever. I came across this device and ordered it. Man I love this thing. It has several different programs you can punch in to pick from hand to wrist compressions. It has an acupuncture type pinpoint material of some sort as well that leaves in your skin for a few minutes when you remove the devise. Funny my arm looks like a golf ball when it is removed, but not painful at all. However this thing has some serious muscle inside it. It can really squeeze, so start at the lowest intensity setting first and work your way up. Best way to describe it is it feels like a blood pressure arm wrap at the doctors office. This machine uses air to fill up the bags inside to form around your hand and wrist with that compression feel and it adjusts with whatever program rythem you choose. It feels Great as long as you don't over do the intensity setting. It has a heat setting and a vibrate setting as well, but neither of these modes work all that well. The compression though is OUTSTANDING! Expensive little device, but who cares if it helps with pain right. If you have ever used a TENS unit then try this. Compression feels so much better than shock waves let me tell you. Flat out works the best for me out of all the stuff I have tried and get some KT tape as well if you suffer in joint areas preventing you from doing things you want to keep doing. ... show more

Disclaimer: I don't recommend, and I am certain Lunix would not recommend doing what I did with this product for the first time. I bought this bc I suffer from chronic tendonitis in both wrists (about 20 years). I did strenuous yard work a few days ago and I've been moving extremely heavy furniture. I've also been typing and writing a lot more than usual. So, I was in a lot of pain and had some swelling when I used this for the first time today. Pain medication was not helping me at all. I used it on my right hand first today (using it for the first time ever since I purchased it) on Program 1 and lowest intensity level just to play it safe, I didn't notice any difference immediately afterwards. Then I used it on my left hand at the highest program setting and on the greatest intensity. I thought my hand was going to explode because it squeezed so hard, I will say that it wasn't exacerbating my pain but it was a little uncomfortable, I was just not used to this much pressure. It sort of reminds me of a professional deep tissue body massage. After the program finished, I noticed that the pain in my left wrist/hand was gone. So, then I tried on my right hand again. But this time I used the highest program, maximum intensity and added heat. I truly wanted to push it to the limits. In the beginning of using the heat, I didn't feel a difference and wondered if the heat setting was working. After about a minute or so, I started to feel the heat. The heat was tolerable but I will never use it at the same time I apply the highest program with the maximum intensity again, it was too much for me. I am used to applying cold compresses to my hands/wrists, not heat. I cut the heat off immediately and continued with the program. The great thing is that the heating feature is separate and can be turned off if you prefer. After the program finished on my right wrist this time around, I noticed a difference immediately. My right wrist was no longer in pain but it was still slightly swollen, which I think can be expected. I tried the vibration setting on its own as well for about a minute, but I am not a fan of it, some people may like that sensation. Another thing that I would like to mention is that your hand will look like someone tried to poke holes through it, especially if you use the highest intensity level. It is merely a temporary imprint from the massager and it goes away after about 30 minutes max. Overall, I am happy with this product, I believe it was worth every penny. I want to buy another one so that I can use it on both hands at the same time, just in case one breaks or to keep locked away at work/school. I feel that the price is very reasonable. The hand massager is a beautiful black and has a smooth, almost silky texture. The material on the inside of the massager is smooth and gentle on my skin as well. I also loved the plastic finger massager that came with it, I put it in the freezer and use it to massage my fingers after writing or when they are cramping. I used the finger massager before I used the machine because I allowed the hand massager to charge for a while. I plan to take really good care of it, time will tell if the product will last a long time. If it lasts at least 5 years, I would be very pleased and would readily by this exact hand massager again.
