“Gross! You always have sores on your lips,” I heard coming from another student in my 3rd grade class with an accusing finger pointed straight at a cold sore that had broken out that morning. Even though that was years ago I still remember it vividly. This was my introduction to what a life with cold sores was like. Most of my family had gotten them starting at a young age too so it was kind of an accepted thing that it was just the way it was. Before I got the Luminance Red I’d get a cold sore outbreak around every 2-3 months depending on stress, and the summer months actually were worst for me even though I know a lot of people struggle more in the winter. Just like everyone else I’ve tried taking L-lysine and Abreva and different diets. Abreva helps some after the cold sore breaks out but nothing has had as big of an impact as I wanted or helped to prevent breakouts. What pushed me over the edge to buy the Luminance Red was the clinical data and study results that I saw. Both in terms of healing and preventing outbreaks. I actually looked at some of the clinical studies themselves and it all made sense to me. I was thinking, even if I could reduce my outbreaks to once every 6 months it would be worth more than it’s expensive price. To sum it up, its been over 11 months now since I had an outbreak, whoowhooo! When I got it in the mail, I didn’t have an outbreak at the time so I waited to use it until I got one. Looking back I wish I would have started using it immediately for prevention, it might have stopped that outbreak from coming. When the outbreak came, I was ready for action and took pictures each day to document exactly how it worked. I used it 3 times every day, every 8 hours. My cold sores usually last around 8 days but this time they were gone in 3 days. I’ll try to upload pictures to this review so you can see. Since then, I’ve been using it 2 times per week, for 60 seconds to stop them from coming back and it’s been working for 11 months. I have a specific spot on my lower lip where they usually form so that’s the area that I treat with the Luminance Red as a preventive measure. I don’t know how long the Luminance red will keep the outbreaks away but so far I’m really excited about the results. One thing to point out is watch your eyes! The light is VERY bright so I’m always careful to keep it away from my eyes. They say it’s safe but I’d rather not take a chance. I take it with me every time I travel and wish they had some kind of carrying case. I don’t want to take a chance of getting an outbreak by not using it. If you’ve got the money I would suggest getting one. It’s been SO nice not having to deal with cold sores for almost a year now. So thankful for this thing. Hope you get to see for yourself how well it works!

I have been suffering with canker sores since childhood. When I found this product I was extremely excited to try it. Their website offer 90 days return guarantee but unfortunately through Amazon it’s only 30 days. From the time it arrived until I had a canker sore, about 80 days have passed. I had a canker sore forming on Sunday after biting my lip, and one smaller one due to either stress or acidity. The product hasn’t worked at all in any of them. If I’m being fair, they MAY be growing slower but they are still growing. The pain does not go away at all. Today is Thursday and I’m honestly considering if I should keep wasting my time using it twice a day. Again, this was MY experience for canker sores treatment. I’m not sure this would work for you. But for such a pricy product I’d expect more. Packaging and usage are quite good.

I got the Luminance Red because I've used red light therapy in the past and saw results, so when I saw this on Amazon I had to try it out. For those of us who deal with cold sores on a regular basis, it's never a pleasant experience and I for one have never been a fan of any cream. In the past when I researched and used red light therapy devices, the one thing clear is that red light therapy has so many benefits for all kinds of different uses. Basically, the correct infrared wavelengths supercharge your mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell, one of the things I actually remember from high school biology lol) - this gives the cells extra power and accelerates what they need to do. I read the book (and recommend you do too) 'The Ultimate Guide to Red Light Therapy' by Ari Whitten and in it, he explains the different uses along with numerous case studies as to why this technology is so effective. The Lumance Red product has taken the technology behind red light therapy and delivered an amazing product designed to help spot treatments for cold sores. With it, there's no need to buy a bulky red light machine. More importantly, the setup with the Luminance Red is super easy. I pulled it out of the box, hit 'start' and had my first treatment done in 60 seconds. This is a huge plus for me as it takes all the thinking out of it, just press go, get the therapy in, and move on with my day. I keep it next to my toothbrush do when I'm doing my morning routine, it fits right in no problem at all.
