  • Great Aquarium Cleaner!
This aquarium siphon is amazing! It's super easy to use and the suction is superb. I really like the plastic tip on it that prevents the gravel and little fishes from being sucked up with everything else. This is much better than some of the more expensive cleaners; it's one piece that allows you to clean the tank effortlessly and do water changes as well. Best of all, it functions exactly as it should while still being priced considerably well! Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Works great for changing water in small tank
This works great for removing water in a smaller tank, It wouldn't use it for a larger tank as it is kind of small but it is light and the tubing is easy to work with. It won't do a good job of cleaning gravel if that is what you are looking for but for just water changes in a small tank, it is ideal. ... show more

  • Great Accessory
EDIT: this siphon is AWESOME. I’ve done at least 30 water changes with it (I’ve gone thru at least 1000 gallons of water in & out, mostly using this), and I have had no problems with quality or use. It’s now my go to siphon for the 85 gallon and the 20 gallon. Even if it died tomorrow, I would’ve felt like I got my money’s worth and bought a new one right away. What a great invention! ORIGINAL POST: have a big tank and little tank. Using the big tank's siphon on the little 20 gallon tank is like using a commercial vacuum on a front door mat. Luigi's little siphon solves that problem. I LOVE it for water changes. The little squeeze pump makes me so happy. Vacuuming sand is really not its strong suit, but, fine, the big one is tricky, too. I saw a review about sucking up fish: you'd have to be extremely creative and dedicated to do that. I mean, you'd have to pull the thing apart and chase after said fish. This product is as safe as you can get. If that happens accidentally, you should consider a different hobby. I address the dead fish issue as it made me a concerned when considering my purchase. As for durability, it just seems like it won't last that long. The plastic is cheap and really thin. I'll update my review if it dies in the next few months. So no edits = durable . For the price, it's great, and I've used it about 30 times already with no issue (tank problems!!). It seems too good to be true. Lightweight, flexible, an awesome pump, and perfect length. If it died tomorrow, however, I MIGHT buy another. I know my other hoses - giant, bulky and annoying - have lasted for years. This product could be replaced for a cheap $2 hose from the hardware store, and if it breaks soon, I'd seriously have to reconsider my habit of spending too much money on non-durable goods. But for now, I'm VERY HAPPY with my purchase. ... show more

  • Flimsy plastic that siphons water well though; not great for real gravel cleaning
I want to rate this siphon better, but it's pretty cheap quality and it feels cheap when you use it. The plastic is fairly flimsy to the touch (like the kind that can be crinkled), but when it comes to siphoning water, it actually does it well. I was able to siphon out a gallon fairly quickly. If you're really diligent and clean your tank's water weekly, this siphon may do the job well enough, but if you're a typical fish owner who's lazy and doesn't clean their tank water and gravel for over a month, I'd look elsewhere. This won't do a good enough job of thoroughly cleaning gravel that's filthy. ... show more

  • It’s Luigi-time to clean the fish tank!
I cleaned an extremely dirty tank with this thing. It worked like a charm. After a few starter pumps the water was flowing, sucking up chunks of food and algae that had accumulated at the bottom. It has a filter on the hose so you don’t accidentally suck up your finned friends. I took it off after removing the fish for heavy duty cleaning. Works either way. I also found that I could put the larger end under the faucet and funnel water into a large bucket, ready to prime and pour into the tank! (Our faucets don’t support python usage) I have sand in my tank. It sucked up some, but not much. I found I could dig it around in the sand to suck up dirt underneath. It cleaned it up just fine. I did several small water suctions on my extremely dirty tank to get it completely cleared up without having to dump and filter sand. ... show more

  • Easy to use and durable
I was looking for a syphon that isn't too strong because my fish used to be pretty small. A lot of the ones I found were for bigger tanks and a lot stronger. The suction power is perfect for my five gallon tank. It's easy to use as well. You just need to set up a bucket (better if it's at a lower height than the tank) and use the hand pump that's attached. It will take a few pumps before the water starts going through but it doesn't take too much strength and pumps easily once the water is flowing through it. I saw some people saying that this syphon broke when they were using it but it is still working fine for me even over a year after purchasing. You can easily take it apart if you want to clean it more thoroughly or just leave it as is. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
I have a 5-galllon tank with just a couple female bettas. Cleaning it is tricky. I had hopes for this in that I would be able to avoid mouthfuls of aquarium water. Well I don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. I used this once and it was so-so. Not very good suction even with the filter off. When I went to use it again the pump was nonfunctional. I took it apart to investigate the cause of the problem but did not find anything that would explain it. Really disappointed. I should have returned in time for a refund. I guess it was just more crap from China? Aggravating. ... show more
