Upfront disclosure: I received this for review through the Amazon Vine Program. I have been working on replacing a floor in our 1948 home. When we stripped off the layers of linoleum and vinyl composite and got down to the concrete floor underneath, several places were found where the concrete was chipped out or damaged which meant I was going to have to patch it before we could take our next steps. I made all the patches but when I was done it needed to be smoothed out and made more level. I knew that I was going to need a grinder disc made for grinding down concrete. So I ordered this one and popped it into my 4.5" cheap angle grinder (with a hookup to the shop vacuum). In a matter of a couple minutes I had an entire section done (about 2 square feet). All nice and smoothed out. This disc made quick work of it and smoothed it all out to a level that really was amazing! There was no observable wear on the disc either. I am sure under microscope I would find find some, but really that seems a bit silly under the circumstances. As a DIY handyperson, I love this and expect it will finish all the patch jobs I have around the house to complete. I can not speak to how it would last in a professional application. Yay!!!! I found a 4-1/2" one, usually I can only find 4" or 5" ones. It works well for knocking down the surface of concrete, can get a more consistent finish then with a normal abrasive grinding wheel and this should last a lot longer too. Its also safer to use since you don't need to worry about a wheel exploding and sending bits all over the place. I had to take of the shroud to use this so there is no dust control, it just flies. My driveway is solid except for one section that has cracked and tilted up over the years. This presented a small trip hazard where the concrete was sticking up about 1.5 inches or so. I mounted this LUCKUT 4.5" diamond grinding wheel to my 32-year-old Skil 4.5" angle grinder. It mounted just fine, I didn't need to use any shims nor the adapter washer, and I didn't need to adjust or remove the safety guard. I ran the grinder for about 30 minutes and beveled down the edges of about 25 feet of concrete where it was a trip hazard. It removed concrete at a rate far more than I expected. This grinding wheel didn't seem to get overly hot, and it was cutting concrete just as well after 30 minutes as it was at the start. Hopefully I get a few more uses out of it before it wears out. Well, this is an amazing amount less expensive than the DeWalt version. I never got around to trying that version, but this one works good enough that I no longer feel the need to try the other. I've long been wanting to shave down some concrete blocks that are filling in a gap in my basement's concrete floor, and this did the job surprisingly well. I also believe this is the tool you'd use if you want to shave down your sidewalk so that you don't actually have to replace it (for example, in the event that some clumsy person trips on your sidewalk and then complains to the city, and the city gives you an ultimatum: pay them or fix it yourself or get fined). Shaving down sidewalks definitely don't look as nice as new pours, but hey, money is money. ... show more

you will need to remove your safety sheild inorder for this grining wheel to fix correctly, I didn't take any picutes after I removed it but works great on my ryobi tool.
