  • A practical tool for your needs
A great light weight cut-off tool that works in the field. I have purchased a few of these and haven't had any complaints about it.

  • Very impressive
I bought this will the knowledge that it would be a very limited use tool. After trying it I have used it more than I ever thought I would. The best thing is the small size and the ability to get in very tight areas. Yes, it will.bog down if you try to cut too aggressively, Take your time it will be your best friend. I recently cut some flanges off a display sign and was able to cut it off right at the base with no additional grinding. As much as I love my Makita cordless grinder, there is no way it would have gotten in such a tight area without additional grinding. I also love the ability to reverse the direction to control which way the sparks fly and get them away from your face. Buy a bigger amp.battery ( I'm using a 6 amp) and its an awesome tool ... show more

  • CUTE ADD-ON...BUT LIMIT YOUR EXPECTATIONS
Not to pee in the cheerios of all the stellar reviews about this mini-cutoff tool...but the NSA in reality is it's underpowered for sure. If you're a regular steel worker used to a typical 4.5" corded cutoff/grinder, This mini will not be a great display of power in your wheelhouse. Just for real-time data...it took me 2 minutes to do a single 5/16 bolt cutoff. This is an eternity compared to a 4.5" grinder. This is for sure intended for thin sheet or small detail cuts your typical cutoff radius is too much for. Just don't expect to be blown away is all...you may wanna consider a rechargeable 4.5" over this if you're not doing tight radii/detail work and wanna go "unplugged." Personally I own all three types of cutoffs and I waited years to commit to one of these minis for a reason. It has it's unique purpose no question and I plan to keep it in the quiver. But definitely think twice about adding this as an alternative/substitute to your 4.5" corded...it's not even close to that power/cutting times. Beyond making small relief cuts or tight exhaust spaces...my 4.5" battery grinder will dominate my "untethered" projects. Same exact thing goes for you cats planning on doing woodwork with it and expecting it to match your small 4.5" corded/battery saws. Well-seasoned and elaborate "tool collectors" with extra cash = BUY IT. Someone tight on funds looking for a #2 secondary cutoff to do tasks similar to how your 4.5" corded saws would perform = DON'T. ... show more

  • Most versatile power tool I've seen yet. 6.0 AH batteries are must with this tool
I'm a mechanical contractor and I do a little bit of everything. HVAC, Electrical, and a little plumbing in remodels. I bought this tool on a whim not having tried or seen one other than online. I ordered this with the intention of using it to cut PVC linehide and was blown away by the functionality of the tool. it not only works great for pvc, it works great for drywall. I recently did a job where radiant heating tubing was laying unsupported on a ceiling i had to run wire through this tool cut only to the paper allowing me to slice the paper with a razor knife giving me more control taking cut drywall out above my head. dust extraction is a must when cutting drywall with this tool. I've used the makita drywall saw and it is much easier to make clean lines with, but slower, and harder to dial the depth right as to not cut anything behind the wall. dust is not as much of an issue with the makita tool. Also, this is my favorite tool to use when cutting metal. You name it, sheet metal, Uni-strut, all-thread, junction boxes, bolts, round duct, square duct, copper even, this is the tool for the job. Also this thing works wonders with the diamond blade for small work to flatten rock for mounting electrical disconnects for a/c to masonry. Also great for cutting tile for outlets or switches. The smaller battery packs do not seem to give the tool the same power as with the larger XC batteries, although I don't notice the difference on some of my other m12 tools. I barely touch my 4 inch grinder now. On second thought maybe don't buy this one cause everybody will want to borrow it! 5/5 would recommend ... show more

  • Not cheap, but works flawlessly!! You will LOVE iT!!!!
Everyone has their favorite screwdriver, favorite pliers, etc. This is my favorite Milwaukee tool. Years ago we attended a Fall Farmfest near our town, and a vendor had one of these cut-off/grinder tools. He installed a Bad Dog diamond cutting blade and that combination sold me. It is extremely versatile for small jobs that need cutting, from wire to plastics and everything in between. I now own three of these tools, keeping one at the ranch, one at the house, and one in my packout. You will LOVE this tool. I recommend getting the 3.0amp Milwaukee battery so you can tail stand it.
