Luckup kennels are very sturdy and good for dogs that can break out of and bend other kennels. They are escape proof. I have a beagle puppy (6 months) that destroyed two standard thin metaled kennels. I call this one her jail cell. The locks are very sturdy. I wouldn't trust any other brand for my escape artist that turns into Godzilla when she is in a kennel. The instructions for the product aren't great. We had to upgrade to this jail cell as our 40 pound pitty destroyed the wire crate. She tried one time to gnaw the bars, discovered it wasn’t possible and now she chills in it. Sturdy, indestructible thus far and comfortable for our dog. It is big and an eyesore in our living room, but completely worth it to have peace of mind leaving the house. We put the tray on top of the bottom slats and covered with a mat and blanket as she doesn't chew it. Fairly easy to assemble with 2 people. ... show more

    • just what I needed

I was looking for a crate for the car that was sturdy unlike the typical wire crates and one that I could see through and had good ventilation, unlike some other types of car crates. This crate fit the bill. It was easy to assemble. I did not put on the wheels since they were unneeded in the car. I installed the floor on the bottom of the crate with straps and not 2 inches up as shown since I needed the extra head space for my dogs. I simply strapped the floor of the crate to the crate frame and since it's not being moved, that worked just fine. I put a primo pad on the bottom bars so my dogs can stand and rest comfortably. So there was some modification for my specific needs, but overall it's a good study crate and that was my main goal. ... show more

I needed another crate for my foxhounds. (60-70 lbs and strong) They had broken out of the flimsy wire crate loaned to me. I already had another similar for under our stairway, but I needed 1 with doors both on the side and front for different arrangements when we have guests. This was the only style I could find that fit that bill. (My other one fold up nicely for transport) This didn't take long to assemble because I'd already assembled the other one. In comparison, this one's doors seem a bit more flimsy with only 1 crossbar. My other has 2. The locks on this SUCK! The wheels, I like better! I like the ability to have 2 doors on on long side and one on short, but... The hinges really need to be able to be reversed. It's not handy if the door is in the way of traffic because the hinges can't be used either side. The doors both hinge on the right. The slide locks on my other crate are a lot sturdier and easy to open and close. These are not. The bars on the bottom to hold the plastic liner are not held in by anything and slide with it when trying to install so I had to push one side so they are not straight across for them to stay in place. The liner seems very flimsy and plastic so it could easily brake. A bit expensive for the quality of the locks, inability to switch hinged doors, bottom bars not locking into anything and the slight spring to the doors. Oh, the welds aren't as nice as my other crate either. The hammered finish sort of hides this a bit. ... show more
