I needed to replace three shades for my living room. And I could not get my wife to make up her mind so I decided on these to replace the ones she had been complaining about. After ordering these I wasn't able to get around to getting them installed before the return period was over and when I did get into them I found I was missing some hardware. I bought three of these shades for the living room, where I have a front-projection TV setup and needed a near-black room. On that count, they work just fine. The backside of the material is the same color as the front. Black would have been better, but on a lot of these roller shades, the backside is white, which is worse if you have any kind of gap for reflected light to pass. They aren't especially fancy and are pretty lightweight, but so long as you don't have children swinging from it, it seems "durable enough" for my needs, especially comparing the price to what you'd pay at the local Blue or Orange store. Others have commented on how the string-and-plastic ball chain which it comes with it kind of flimsy and cheesy-looking. It is both. And also too short. Fortunately, these ball chains come in standard sizes, and it's pretty easy to remove the end cap of the shade and swap out the original chain with a metal one. This specific one requires a 4.5mm bead diameter (chain size #10), and I found a 30 foot roll (enough to do all three shades) including clasps for $19 here on Amazon from a different seller. Specifically: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08D7MDCV2/ I also reversed one of the three, to put the chain on the left side. Again, fairly easy. Just remove the plastic hubs from the inside of the tube that the fabric wraps around (the non-driven hub needed to be pried out with a small pocketknife), swap them around, and re-assemble. All in all, a definite win. I think I'm going to buy a couple more of these for the east-facing bedroom. ... show more

I purchased 24 inch wide, I should have gotten wider. The valence on top is 24" but the shade itself is only 23". The measurements would be better for inside mount. Luckily I added 2 inch for outside mount, but I should have added 3. Brackets works better for inside mount. I wish brackets were shorter so the shade/ valence would be closer to the wall. Brackets push everything out an inch, doesn't look good for outside mount. The weight on the bottom should be glued on so it doesn't fall out. ... show more
