Before buying this product, be aware that Lucid does not honor its warranty if you purchase through Amazon. Lucid emailed me, “If your item arrived damaged with this issue that was noticeable right at first , you will need to contact Amazon as this was shipped and sold directly by them.” If you purchase through Amazon, you have 30 days to request a refund for manufacturer defects (as of May/June 2020. ) My mattress had a strong mildew smell when it arrived. I assumed this smell was off-gassing from the mattress, as described by other reviewers, so thought it would go away on its own. Over a month later, I took a closer look at the mattress and noticed mold spots on it. No water or fluids were spilled on it; in fact, it was barely used. The mattress had clearly arrived wet and with mold spores already in it. I wasn’t able to ask amazon for a refund since it was outside of 30 days and Lucid claimed the issue was Amazon’s responsibility, despite what Lucid’s warranty stated. I would not purchase additional products from this manufacturer since its warranty is misleading and deceptive.

Shame on me, I had my previous bed for 10 years.. yikes!! So I finally decided to replace my bed with the Lucid 8 inch gel and memory foam mattress. First, Packaging. The box came in good enough condition that it kept the mattress safe during shipping. The mattress upon removal from the box was vacuum sealed and wrapped in a thick protective plastic. No moisture, stains, or any debris when the plastic was removed. Lucid provided a handy plastic cutter (looks like a jumbo mail opener) to prevent damaging the mattress in the process. (Thank you!) Second, installation. Super easy, just lay the vacuum sealed mattress as a roll over the box spring and unfold. Then, use the provided tool to break the plastic and let the mattress rise like pizza dough for a couple of hours. My theory is that these mattresses rise depending on the moisture and temperature inside your house. The hotter and more moisture, the longer it takes to rise. Mine rose to a full 7 3/4 inches in 45 minutes. Third, my senses. A lot of people in the reviews complained of an “awful chemical smell”. Everyone’s noses are different. For me, it emitted that smell similar to a new car. A wonderful smell. It has faded after two days drastically. So if you’re sensitive, my thing is to use another bed or the couch and air it out before use. Plain and simple, it does not smell bad. Sitting on the bed for the first time was really pleasant. I’m a heavy guy so it kind of flattened quickly since I bought the plush model. However, when I lay on it: it has very great support throughout my body and does not flatten. It quite much feels like I’m on a cloud! Super comfy. It’s also easy to get back up with minimal effort, as some mattresses takes some effort to do cause you sink like a brick. My old mattress had my back hurting really bad, it was also foam and 5 inches of firmness. After switching to Lucid 8 inches, I feel way better! My back pain went down drastically after just the first night, my sleep has improved as well. I work overnight so I sleep in the day, and I find myself sleeping about 2-3 hours longer than with my old mattress. Now I get a full 8-9 hours of sleep vs 4-6. The surface of the mattress stays cool, there are no hot spots!! The gel really works! Fourth, weight. Foam mattresses are known to weigh like sandbags!! This one is super light weight and keeps its shape when you pick it up. This may change as it ages but as of now, it’s super light! For the price, it feels like one of those tempurpedics. I say buy it and look no further!

Bought the bed in May 2020. My wife and I started seeing dips in the mattress.( My wife weights 110lbs and I weight 160lbs) Called lucid to see if it was covered under warranty. Unfortunately since the mattress doesn't have deep enough dips per lucid the mattress isnt qualified for there warranty. Don't buy the mattress you can do better.

I have used a spring mattress for most of my life. The occasional water bed, air mattress etc from time to time too, and I've always had an issue sleeping for more than 5 hours at a time. Not with this. I'm not sure if this bed is the work of an angel, or a demon. After the first week, I find myself sleeping wayyyyy too much on this thing. It's like my body is subconsciously catching up on the years of lost sleep I've let go. When your bed is so comfortable that you sleep for 12 hours at a time, you know you made a wonderful (but dangerous) purchase. I've made sure to wait at least a month before writing this, but man, this bed really sucks you in. I love everything about it. Make sure to give it a full weeks worth of inflating before really evaluating it. It's perfect.

We purchased this mattress based on the positive Amazon reviews and the advertised gel infusion properties of the mattress. Overall, this was just a huge disappointment. The mattress slept incredibly hot (and I am someone who is nearly always cold.) While we were looking for a firmer feel, this mattress felt like a rock. Ultimately, this was really not the mattress for us. Too firm, way too hot, and after sleeping some days on it - it just never felt like it relaxed. On a positive note - Amazon is incredible and the return process for this product was an absolute dream. This could be a get-what-you-pay-for purchase - but I would not recommend it.

I hate this mattress and I regret throwing out my cool gel. This one is hard, doesn’t even feel like memory foam it feels like regular foam. Doesn’t take time to come back up when you sink your hand in like memory foam does. It’s hard, feels plastic-ish. The end of the mattress never expanded and is sunken in permanently. It’s not even the right size, there’s still a gap on my bed frame, it just looks so bad. I don’t even get a good night sleep on this mattress, Definitely not plush feeling. You have been warned!
