Surprisingly good for the price

I bought this Lucid 5” memory foam mattress for a simple setup and honestly didn’t expect much, but it turned out better than expected. It’s definitely on the firmer side, which I personally like, especially for back support. Even though it’s only 5 inches thick, it feels supportive and doesn’t sink too much. It works great for a guest room / kids room / lighter use, and it fits perfectly on a platform bed frame. Setup was super easy and just unbox and let it expand. I also noticed it doesn’t trap too much heat compared to other memory foam mattresses, which is a plus. No strong chemical smell either after airing it out for a bit. Overall, great value if you’re not looking for something super thick or ultra-plush. Solid, simple, and gets the job done. If you want it a little more “Amazon top reviewer style” (shorter, more punchy, or more critical), I can tweak it 👍

I bought this is March 2022 to use as my everyday mattress. It lasted a little over 4 years. I bought it originally because it was what I could afford at the time and I am pleased to get 4 years out of it. It was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something for a guest room or just need a comfortable mattress at an affordable price that you aren’t expecting to last for super long.

The web site for the product aside (which is no good) the mattress is terrific. I stayed at an air b&b and this was the exact mattress I slept on for five nights. I got home and bought it right away. The support is excellent. The firm (I got) is solid in a supportive way. It's cool and has no gasses. I was able to sleep on it the first night but it got to where it is supposed to be during the second day. I LOVE IT! My lower back and hips love it. And talk about value; it's great. I just bought a great mattress for three times the price six months ago; it's a good one. But I am 'regifting'. I am staying with Lucid.

Finally, A Full Night's Sleep

Got this during Prime Day to replace a couple of foam toppers I have been using on a hand-me-down traditional full mattress and box springs set that is still too hard for my taste despite being broken down. The two toppers were about 5 inches total of just "memory foam" and weren't really getting the job done. I am 62, overweight, and have arthritis in many joints, including my hips. I sleep mainly on my left side but at times, my left hip would hurt and I would end up on my back during the night. This caused my back to hurt and my legs to go numb. Not to mention apnea episodes with multiple wakings during the night. To be honest, I really didn't pay much attention to the inches and just saw the good price - got mine for a lot less than what it's going for now. When I got it and saw that it was only 5 inches, I worried. Especially when I read on the company website that it was designed to transition kids from the crib to a full size bed. I was afraid it wouldn't be firm enough to give the support I needed. Happy to say that assessment was very, very wrong. I got it out of the box at around 11:00 am and it was fully decompressed by the time I was ready for bed 12 hours later. There was no strong smell that I could detect and I am very sensitive to smells. It's firm enough to keep my hip from hitting bottom yet cushy enough to keep me pain free. I woke up on my side, exactly as I had gone to sleep. Basically, I slept like a rock and woke up feeling a lot better than I usually do. I would definitely recommend this mattress if you are looking for a replacement. However, considering how the full mattress is suddenly going for more than twice what I paid for mine during Prime Day, you might want to check around for a better price if you're looking for a full. By the way, this mattress works just fine atop a traditional mattress and box springs. I even have another foam topper between the older mattress and this new one but only because it would have been a royal pain to have gotten rid of the topper first.

Firm and comfortable

I got four years of use out of mine!

I have been using the Twin XL firm mattress since 2022 and got about four years of use out of it. I’m ordering a replacement today because my lower back is starting to bother me again, which tells me it is probably time. Overall, I think four years of use is pretty good for the price. I do recommend rotating/flipping it horizontally on a regular schedule so it wears more evenly. I rotated mine about once a month. For context, I use this 5" mattress on top of another 8" mattress, with a 1/2" plywood board between the two for extra support. That setup worked well for me for quite a while.

Don't try to buy this if you care about your back.

Bad quality and customer service. Don't buy it for your health. I bought this mattress one year ago. recently I feel my back are really hurt, after carefully check, I found it was caused by the mattress. The middle part of the mattress are soft than other part obviously, so that my back was not support properly when I sleep. I try to contact costumer service, it is really hard to reach them. Finally I got response from them, after over 1 month explanation, they told me that the warranty only covers lasting indentations or sags deeper than an inch and a half. How that possible to a 5 inch mattress has a one and half deep hole in the middle? so ridiculous!! The first photo shows that the mattress is placed on a hard, flat wooden bed frame, ensuring there is no uneven support from underneath that could affect its shape. The second photo confirms that this is your Lucid 5-inch mattress. Photos 3 and 4 demonstrate the degree of sagging when two 5-pound weights (a total of 10 pounds) are placed in the center of the mattress. I positioned a metal ruler across the measuring points so that its edge is perfectly aligned with the top surface of the mattress. One photo shows the ruler placed in front of the weights, and the other shows it placed behind them, allowing you to clearly see the height relationship between the ruler’s edge and the top of the weights. It is obvious that in this case, the ruler’s edge is higher than the top of the weights. Photos 5 and 6 provide a comparison, using the same two weights placed near the edge of the mattress. The ruler is again placed across the two sides to align with the mattress surface. In this case, the ruler’s edge is clearly lower than the top of the weights. By comparing the mattress’s deformation when the weights are placed in the center versus near the edge, it is clear that the center area is softer and lacks proper support.
