2-foot extra heavy duty fiberglass stepladder with a 300 lbs capacity. Spreader braces inside fiberglass rails help keep braces from getting hooked or abused during transit. Double-rivet step construction, each step secured with six, large headed, semi-tubular steel rivets for maximum strength. 30% greater shear strength than solid aluminum rivets. Full channel fiberglass rail, nonconductive full channel rails are covered with a polyester veil for years of durable service when prolonged exposure to the elements is necessary. Reinforced bottom back brace, heavy duty bottom back brace provides additional strength to the bottom of the ladder. Wide back braces, vertically mounted U-shaped back braces spaced on one foot intervals provide maximum stiffness and discourage unsafe climbing. As you might have noticed, this company often tries to send you a very clearly used ladder when you have paid for a new one. The ladder itself seems to be of good value and a descent product, but it baffles my mind as to why they would risk their reputation with this trend. It is extremely annoying, I had to do a bunch of extra work to get the return set up, and I lost out on time waiting for a replacement. Overall, the product is descent, but the company philosophy needs to change quick. UPDATE: After returning a clearly used ladder the company replaced it with another clearly used ladder. I finally broke down and bought a great ladder. For the price, one would expect something somewhat flimsy. This ladder is VERY sturdy. I have used it all over the front and back yard and it has stayed steady in the grass and of course on concrete. No shaking at all. No feeling of "opps", at all. The fiberglass body with the aluminum steps is very well constructed. The hand tool caddy on top is a plus and I have used it on several occasions with no issues. Being the body is fiberglass, you can rest assured, as well, should you touch a bare power line, you are not grounded. So far I have avoided such a shocking experience, but I do know, from past experience, on a fiberglass ladder, that this is a must to consider versus an all metal ladder. Easy to store in the garage. Some have stated it is a tad heavy. Yes it is, but for a sturdy work platform, you want great stability, which this ladder has, and with that stability, you will experience some weight. Took ladder out of the box and it had scratches& missing paint all over. This ladder must have been already used. Cant possibly be intended for short people to use in their kitchen to reach stuff. Meaning you open it and close it often, with ease, without straining your back trying to close it or open it. The steps are wide enough to hold your foot and your foot not to hurt. Definitely not the case in any of the above mentioned. Annoyed having to put it back in the box, carry it down the stairs and wait for ups to pick up. I recently moved from a high-rise condominium to a house, and realized quickly that I need a good ladder. It surprised me the weight limits of a lot of the ladders I looked at. A lot of them said they only supported 200-250lbs. I'm a bigger guy, and I knew I would be carrying heavy tools & materials up and down this, so I was happy that it supports up to 300lb's. I also do not own a truck and hate paying 40-60 dollars to rent one to pick up large items from the store. It was so awesome that Amazon delivered this right to my door so I didn't have to worry about it. I've used it several times now, and it's very strong & sturdy. I especially love that the top plate has a magnetic strip to help hold onto your tools. Overall, I am very pleased with this ladder & would highly recommend it. ... show more

Well, the first ladder arrived really beat up and the final receiving inspection issue was a 3/16” deep cut into the fiberglass in an area under tension. So I returned it. I have no idea why such a used piece of trash was shipped by Louisville as the box was undamaged. The replacement ladder arrived in good condition and my experience so far indicates that it will probably last the rest of my life. This 4’ type 1A unit is a nice “little inside ladder”to keep handy in a closet; no more climbing on chairs because it’s not worth going to the garage for a ladder just to change this bulb, battery, etc... I recommend it, just be aware of the chance that you may receive a used/returned item first, so open it quickly and inspect it; luckily amazon will take care of any return/replacement seamlessly. I would only recommend this be purchased from amazon because their customer service will protect you. ... show more

I disregarded the reviews that mentioned receiving damaged ladders. That was a mistake! My ladder also arrived in an intact box, but the ladder was absolutely beat up: large gouges in the plastic top, chips in the fiberglass legs, and various scratches all over. It was also dirty, giving the impression that it had done hard duty on a job site. It's just a ladder, so I don't need it to be absolutely pristine, but the fact that it was also wobbly made the decision to return it very easy. ... show more

My first fiberglass ladder, and also taller than my existing 8' wood ladder. My existing wood ladder wobbles (bought 25 years ago) and can be very dangerous at top height recommended step. This replacent Louisville ladder is much firmer, more stable. I haven't used to topmost recommended step yet but have gone higher than my existing 8' ladder would allow and am comfortable with its stability. One note, for the price of this ladder, Louisville should have included the paint utility tray, had to purchase separately. Otherwise, I would recommend this style and manufacturer ... show more

    • Sturdy and Lightweight!

I'm glad I went for the more expensive sturdier ladder. I'm a petite 71 year-old active woman who will never reach the 300 lb. weight limit on this ladder! I thought it might need weight for added stability, but not so! Sturdy on uneven surfaces as well on even ones and carpeting. Fortunately I have a one-story house because I can clean the outside of windows from the fourth step on this ladder--no problem. Even resting the bottom on uneven soil I was able to balance and hand-wipe the window cleaner into a nice polish. Climbed up with my hose in tow and blew out debris in the gutters. Indoors, the ladder is easy to maneuver and move around corners and through doorways. I just fold up the ladder, turn it sideways and put it over my shoulder and proceed to the next project. Top of the ladder has wells for putting small items like screws and nails and held them very well. There are wells for screwdrivers, even a pencil-length well! The hole at the top of the ladder was handy for inserting the drill and holding it there, even when moving the ladder. Indispensable! Worth going for the best. ... show more
