Looked at the less expensive Louisville 4ft Ladder (FS4004) that sells for $47.96, but for $15 more this Ladder holds 300 lbs instead of $225 lbs and who knows, I may gain a few pounds during this damn pandemic, so decided to splurge. For $15 more, this ladder just looks better and did not disappoint. Even gave it a name, "Louis." (Yes, so original I know, LOL). It also has holes on top to store some tools so when you're high up in the air at 4ft you don't have to come back to the ground. Ok, yes, having those holes, isn't entirely necessary as you would want in a > 6ft ladder, but it's a handy feature. This ladder is just the right height to reach most stuff around the house and in the garage, but light enough, the ladies can get use out of it as well.     • Excellent, Rock Solid, Sturdy, Heavy-Duty, Well-Built Ladder That Will Provide You With Extra Measure of Safety

An excellent, very sturdy, rock solid, heavy-duty, and well-built ladder, especially for the price. When I first used this ladder, I was a bit uncertain about what I perceived as a minor bit of wobble, but after a few minutes, the wobble completely disappeared, as it was due to the 'boot' or 'foot' on the bottom of each leg taking a small amount of of time to become fully seated. After about a minute, the ladder is now rock solid and stable. I think this is a great ladder that is much safer to use than other ladders rated for less weight than the 300 pound rating this ladder has. Although I am only 200 pounds, I wanted as stable and as strong a ladder as I could get. With my safety in mind, I don't mind spending the extra dollars for a stronger, more rigid, and stable ladder with a higher, 300 pound weight rating. Being made of fiberglass, this ladder will help prevent you from being shocked if you do any electrical work and the fiberglass also makes this lighter than an equivalent wooden one. ... show more

This little utility ladder is perfect for shorter reaches. Very well built while giving you a real sense of security while in use. I noticed that a separate rating was for, "light weight". If I wanted light weight I probably would have purchased a typical aluminum ladder with its unnerving shakiness and involuntary movement during use. This ladder plants and doesn't move. I'm a painter that doesn't like a paint tray on the ladder. This has a painters top that has a notch out for gallons and quarts. I'm a 260lbs and have been using 225lb rated aluminum ladders forever and have never had a problem. This is definitely heavy duty and rock solid.

The be-all and end-all in a short set-of-steps. Nice wide base spread and high weight rating. Most people forget to add the weight of the load they might be carrying up a ladder. When you are starting off at sixteen stone--like me--you need a 1-A rated ladder to move anything hefty.

It's so hard to find 300lb rated ladders at this size that aren't crazy expensive in the hardware store. This ladder is really great quality, I'm a few lbs over the weight rating and I feel very safe on this ladder. My only gripe is that I wish the steps were a little bit wider. Still a great ladder for the price and great to have around for household things that are a little too tall for my stepstool. ... show more

This 4ft. A-frame ladder is perfect for home use. I bought it because I didn't want my wife getting hurt on a cheap step stool. This ladder is light and sturdy and works great for painting, changing light bulbs and other little odd jobs around the house.
