No one would ever guess that they are not wood. They look very nicely-made. Quality, from Vietnam. They are on three small, high windows in my dining area, in an open concept house. They add to the clean, modern look of my house. We are very happy with these blinds. They are on a West-facing wall in California, and the light and heat control are wonderful. If I had them on low windows, though, I would use curtains over them at night. Almost all Blinds have those little holes for the strings. Also, we haven't installed the corners of the attached valance, yet, so cannot say if they work well. My husband (who hasn't installed anything in decades) put up three blinds at one time and did a great job. He needed a power drill, but it was quick and easy.. His only problem was a metal plate beneath the plaster, but that had nothing to do with the blinds. That's why a power drill helps with the unexpected. If you don't have one, perhaps borrow one--you'll only need it for a brief time for a few blinds. That's his luck--first time my husband's done home improvement in 12 years, and now every time we walk into the living area, we say "they look so good!"

I would have given these blinds a fifth star but they can be a PIA to install. If you were installing a single set on one window- no problem. They come with everything you need for and inside or surface mount. The measurements are exact. If you have a 36” opening the blind will be 35-1/2 inches wide exactly. So here is my install. I have three windows in a single opening, 94-1/2 inches wide. Originally, there were 3 blinds, 31-1/2 inches wide hanging from a single rail with controls for raising and slanting each blind separately installed inside mount. I ordered 3 32 x 60 blinds (31-1/2) actual width. So they would go in the space perfectly! Well, hours later, I finally finish up and they look great but there was absolutely no wiggle room. If one of the bracket was a “hair” short of 31-1/2 inches the blind would not go in or if it was a little wide, like 31-5/8, the other blind would not go into opening. I figured that out the hard way. You have to allow about about an 1/8 inch for the brackets on each blind. I put them up and had to move the brackets several times to get right. None-the-less I’m happy with the result and will be pitching more for some other rooms.

We purchased these blinds for a kitchen window over the sink. It fits perfectly and it's so pretty. I took down the cloth curtains but we could have kept them over these if wanted. The blinds provide so much privacy, we love them.
