  • Perfect for my teaching style
Edition: Loog piano
EDIT: No problem with the keyboard. But if you decide to buy the octave shift switch, or other accessories, direct from Loog, prepare to get inundated by daily unsolicited email spam from shopify that continues after unsubscribing and contacting shopify support. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm a professor of music. I teach voice to karaoke and other casual singers. I take this little keyboard with me to teaching sessions and it gives me everything I need. It's small, easy to carry, simple to use with it's single knob control. Simply put, you press the key(s) and you get piano tones. No synth, no helicopter sounds, no pads, no violins...just piano. For picking out notes or chords, or demonstrating 4 part harmony, it's perfect. The keys are touch sensitive for dynamics. The volume from the onboard speaker/amp is more than enough to be heard in any room where I teach. It will fit on a music stand, podium, chair, or held in hand. Just turn it on, adjust the volume, and play. It's not a Steinway or a Baldwin, obviously. It doesn't have all the voices that a Yamaha or other keyboard might have. I consider that a plus. I don't need gunshots or airplane sounds to teach voice. It's not 88 keys, it's 3 octaves. Obviously it's not designed for Chopin recitals. All of this makes it darn near perfect for my use. If I were teaching kids, it would have a subtle advantage over most electronic keyboards. That is that it ONLY has one voice, PIANO. Kids with a keyboard that makes dozens or hundreds of voices quickly start focusing on how cool it is to make monster sounds on those synth style instruments. It's easy for youngsters to lose focus on playing the piano with those style instruments, they get lost on the extra voices just making noises. It fits into a generic 37 key carry bag. The keys are sub standard size but they are velocity sensitive and have good action. The two attached pictures show the Loog keyboard (upper) and a full size Roland (lower). I've lined up the C key from both keyboards on the left end. The right side pic shows that the octave C on the Loog just about lines up with the octave B on the lower Roland. So it's about a half step smaller per octave. Still plenty of room for my adult fingers. I have absolutely no complaints about this little keyboard. It even looks and feels really good. Real wood end pieces, red fabric top, unobtrusive logo, single wooden knob. ... show more

  • Perfect for a 3yr old.
Edition: Loog piano
Perfect size for a 3yr old to learn on. Also- quality sound of a piano. Happy that there is no electronic sound change. Just the piano. Looks great and easy for a 3 yr old to carry around. Allows headset to plug in for silent play. Great piano.

  • Absolutely amazing, perfect for kids (and their grown ups!!)
Edition: Loog piano
The media could not be loaded. I cannot say enough good things about the Loog Piano! I originally got it for my 4-year-old, thinking he might be a little too young, but I was completely wrong—he’s loving it! From the moment we set it up, he was instantly drawn to it, exploring the keys and making up little tunes. The build quality is fantastic, the sound is rich and clear, and the size is just right for small hands while still feeling like a “real” instrument. It comes with a great app, but one of the things I loved is I could get it to work with the Duolingo app. It’s been a game-changer for keeping my son engaged. And I have to admit… I’ve been having just as much fun as he has! I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much myself, but now I find myself sitting down to play when he’s not around. It’s genuinely a great instrument for anyone, no matter their skill level. It’s also gorgeous to have around, doesn’t look like a kids toy at all. It’s beautifully designed, and feels sturdy, not like the usual cheap plastic pianos out there. Highly, highly recommend! 🎶✨ ... show more

  • Wanted to love, but hung up on high price, not so high quality.
Edition: Loog piano
We wanted to love it, so badly. The branding is so fun, the company has a lively energy! The concept is really exciting, and I thought I could share it with my kids! It's a cute piano, but it's such a lightweight plastic, but I felt nervous to let the kids jam because it felt a moment away from breaking at any given time. The wooden ends are nice, and the speaker mesh fabric is cute, but the body and keys are kind of a flimsy toy plastic that would feel at home on a 20-80 dollar piano, but this is 250. All the marketing promises "Pro sound" I would not hang a hat on that. It's a tinny kind of grating sample, and the soft touch (pressure sensitivity) is just a quieter version of the same sample. I would hope again at this price point for an actual soft sample. rather than just turning the sample volume to 25% when played soft. As a midi keyboard the sensitivity was great, but there are plenty of better built midi keyboards coming in at 1/4 of the price point. All this to say, we returned the Loog piano, it was not for us. We really were excited, but it felt like an expensive decision that made us too nervous to use it like it's intended. I would say this is more for folks who have cash to burn and want to use it to make a room look cute. ... show more
