Was looking for a warm but not bulky coat to wear on a cruise we are taking in January. We’re leaving out of New York, but going down to the Caribbean, so I’m gonna need something for a couple of days. The coat is very well-made. Very pleased with this coat. I almost could size down, but this will fit in the shoulders and sleeves perfectly with a sweater on. I'm cold-natured, so I'll keep the Large. I'm 5 ft 0, 155lbs, pear-shaped with a long torso and short legs. This came to my hips. The quality of the stitching is just gorgeous and the fabric is heavy. The scarf is thin but a nice neutral color (blue and taupe but the blue is so light it's almost a grey) and was attached at the back of the collar with a T shaped plastic price tag thing (you know, the ones made of fishing line). It was easy to cut off. The only thing is, I wish this were belted at the waist, because it doesn't nip in enough and conceals my figure. But I suppose with a sweater underneath it won't matter much. There are only 2 pockets (in front at the waist), and they're very deep. Half my forearm fits in them, or my cell phone, keys, gloves, hat. This is well-made, would buy again in a heartbeat. The color is better in person than in the stock photos. I ordered the heathered grey I believe which is more of a light taupe (more of a light brown, no black in it). Good color for a blonde. Looks nice with brown boots and brown purse. There is no hood, so I need to find a good hat to match this. I believe this coat is dry clean and scarf is hand wash lay flat to dry. Good investment piece, very sturdy. I got this at an excellent twenty six bucks in summertime. Better quality than expected. I feel this is more sturdy than my London Fog trench coat. I paid a hundred bucks for that one at the mall ten years ago. ... show more

    • An unexpected but welcome item

Short story here. I was out of town with a work assignment in one of those towns that has no shopping. The weather was quickly turning cold and I needed something to get me through. I checked out my Amazon Prime for whatever could be shipped the quickest, and this was it. I've always wanted a pea coat or something similar, but the ones I have tried on in the past have been itchy and unpleasant. I've always heard good things about this brand. The weight is perfect for my needs, and there is space for layering. It is double breasted, primarily 4 large buttons, with the top one in reserve for when you really need wind prevention. The buttons are easy to manipulate when wearing gloves, which is a definite plus. Some reviews I read mentioned shoulders too small or other such things, but I did not find this to be the case. There is a nice lining, and pockets that can hold my hands up to the wrist area. Purchased an XL. I am 5 ft 7 inches and 200 lbs. Opted for the grey color. Fits very well, with hem sitting just below my hips. It comes with a lightweight scarf, which is more for appearance than function, but it does work well to block out wind if needed. This is a dry clean only item, so be advised. It is more for work and dressy functions (I'm an avid outdoorsy type), so I doubt I will really put it through anything requiring frequent cleaning, although it did serve well on a hike through the woods yesterday with no scratches from tree limbs. ... show more

I purchased this jacket because I had a party to attend, and didn’t have anything suitable to wear. I didn’t need anything super dressy, but some thing that looked a lot neater than the bubble winter jacket that I had. I ordered this jacket and thankfully it arrived within two days. The fit was perfect. I chose to wear the jacket without the scarf, but the scarf looks very lovely with it as well. I was afraid that it would not fit properly, and/or would be cheaply made. London Fog is a well known brand associated with quality. The positives, it appears to be well made, with straight seams, etc. Unlike some reviews, mine arrived with the scarf shown. The image shows a light taupe (cool toned) jacket; the jacket is much darker than shown but still a neutral tone. According to the size chart, I should wear a size medium. I ordered a medium and a smaIl and the small arrived first. The small HANGS on me! The shoulders are too broad and the sleeves hang close to my fingertips. For reference, I'm 5'3" 125 lbs. I suggest you size down two sizes from what the posted chart suggests. I can't speak for the other colors but this one is not well represented. ... show more
