So being a taller guy I hated looking down at my phone in map mode attached to a dash vent or laying on my leg or having it sitting loose in the cup holder. I would prop up my phone against the windshield but it would fall over or sit to far back at the wrong angle. My phone is a bigger and heavier off market brand (a DooGee S-98 Pro) Mil-Spec. I did have to remove the inner piece of the holder so my phone would lay back at a better viewing angle. So laying on its side in my holder I now have perfect line of sight straight over the steering wheel in my 2006 Expedition, 1999 F-250 SD and my 2006 C-4500 Kodiak. I highly recommend this holder if your like me and want a safer place to keep the phone and keep an eye on the road while watching the map mode. ... show more

Easy and simple to stick on to dash exactly where you want it, even with slightly curved dash and stays put. Rubber is quite flexible and easily holds my thick tough phone in place, unlike suction cup base holders with an arm. The base will never fall off the windshield as has happened to me many times, because it is attached horizontally to the dashboard in front of you. Could have saved a small paycheck over the years if I had this holder years ago. No sticky stuff on edges of bottom to hold sides on a curved dash, but the centre stick part is more than adequate. I have 2 of these. One I use next to my bed to hold my phone up to see time, watch videos ect. The 2nd I use in my car. I have it right behind the steering wheel so I can see my directions without taking my eyes off the road. My husband is a little leary of this placement because he says if in an accident, the phone could fly back and hit me. This is the only flat place on my dashboard. I decided to still use it because I don't have to look away from the road to see my Google maps. So yes, I really like this product but be sure to think it through. ... show more

Seldom do I leave reviews but I will on this because it is an absolute Blessing for the price. I'm super impressed with just how sticky yet non-sticky the bottom is so there's no residue when you take it off but it's as sticky as glue putting it on if that even makes sense. So it's movable and yet it's not movable lol. It's not a hard plastic but it's a firm gel type substance like rubber so you don't have to worry about scratching the edges of your phone if you're just carelessly you know putting it in there really quick. I have a Samsung Z4 fold and it's big bulky and thick, don't get me wrong I love the thing it's a miniature tablet but I always struggle to find anything that will hold that thing without me having to take its case off and this thing works just perfectly because it's low enough to the ground that it doesn't impede on anything that may be in the center of the phone like a hinge or a connected pen or stylus but yet it's firm enough and stable enough to keep my phone up even if I'm tapping on the screen. ... show more

Pros: low profile for dashboard, doesn't interfere with line of sight, fits the space I have, close to just below eye level, anchors cell well in landscape position, price is very good. Don't know how much I spent on other devices that did not work. Recommend: consider using Velcro (perhaps a circle shape) underneath unit to adjust angle as needed without having to remove adhesive mounted to surface of dashboard. ... show more

Sturdy, low-tech, easy to install. Be sure to wipe down the spot before sticking it, of course, if your car is as dusty as mine! Also, check to make sure your phone fits in the spot where you plan to install it based on the slope of your own windshield. I was lucky that my phone did fit-- if I had placed it an inch closer to the windshield my phone wouldn't have fit. Didn't think of that before I installed it. It was easy to stick onto the instriment panel, holds tightly, the only thing I wish it could do is rotate. I didn't quite get it in the position I wanted but it's still easy to see while I listen to Siri direct me where to go. It held my i-phone tightly & securely.
