This is a nice rug as to how it looks and the softness. Three months since putting it in our home it still smells like a farm after trying everything to remove the smell, and it is shedding like crazy. Worst purchase Ive made in some time.

This rug is so beautiful and I LOVE how it looks in my home. But I now have a brand new home that no longer smells fresh and new, but literally like a petting zoo. I recognize the smell everyone is talking about, I wouldn’t call it barn animal but it definitely smells like natural fibers. High quality thick rug, haven’t had any issues with shedding out of the ordinary. Feels like and thick under your feet. Update a few weeks later- the smell is gone, but it does have some shedding, I can’t see it on our floors unless I’m using the vacuum with lights on it, however if I put our darker green pillows on the carpet they do pick up tiny white fibers. Doesn’t bug me too much, the rug still feels thick and great but if it’s something that will bother you then be aware. ... show more

After extensive searching and reading reviews, I decided on this rug. I loved the color and the pattern and the quality of the wool for the price. As other reviewers had mentioned, it had an extremely strong farm like manure smell when I opened the package. I let it air out for several weeks and the odor got fainter, but it still exists. I vacuum it frequently and my vacuum will fill up with the wool material each time. I used carpet fresh that had pet odor remover in it and that helped a slight amount, but it still smells. Evidently this odor is due to the lanolin in the sheep’s wool and is common for wool rugs. Aside from the odor, the rug is beautiful. It’s very durable and I hope it lasts for a long time. ... show more

Great rug, fits so well in our son’s nursery. Would recommend vacuuming it once or twice after laying it down, as it shed at the beginning (filled our entire vacuum!). After vacuuming it doesn’t shed. Great price and color!
