It’s a beautiful rug! I saw a lot of reviews saying that it sheds a lot, but thankfully, I haven’t had that issue at all. It is definitely delicate if you have cats and are worried about scratching. I have two cats, and it’s been a little challenging keeping them from scratching it because the material is very similar to a scratching post. Other than that, I absolutely love it. I have to say I loved the look of this rug. However, after reading the reviews saying that it sheds a lot, I bought 2 other rugs but I didn’t love them in my space. So I went back to this rug and bought it and I am thrilled that I did! I have walnut stained hardwood floors and I am happy to report that this rug has very minimal shedding and deep down I knew this is the style and color rug I needed in my space. With that being said, I vacuum my house a couple times a week. It’s easy to vacuum, it layed flat immediately, and as far as softness, my kitty and I approve. Was so glad we ordered this rug!! I knew it was exactly what we were looking for and decided to order despite some of the reviews. The rug did have a light smell for the first few hours- but that’s to be expected with the materials it’s made from. Overall the rug was exactly what we were looking for and the quality is excellent. This rug is beautiful, well-made, and has a great texture. I really wanted to love it. Unfortunately, the shedding was absolutely out of control. No matter how much I vacuumed, wool fibers were constantly coming off the rug and spreading throughout my home. Shortly after bringing this rug into my house, my cats began experiencing severe symptoms, including constant sneezing, runny noses, watery eyes, red eyes, and general irritation. After multiple vet visits and spending hundreds of dollars trying to identify the cause, I started eliminating possible triggers in my home. Once I removed the rug, my cats improved dramatically and their symptoms significantly decreased. I can’t say with certainty that the rug was the cause, but it was the only change in my home, and removing it made a noticeable difference almost immediately. The excessive shedding certainly did not help. To make matters worse, returning the rug has been a frustrating process because of its size and the amount of loose wool fibers it continues to release. What started as a beautiful addition to my home turned into a stressful and expensive experience. If you have pets, especially sensitive cats, I would be cautious. While the rug looks great, the extreme shedding and the issues I experienced make it impossible for me to recommend. ... show more

So wool sheds, I bought a wool rug from Wayfair that sheds like crazy so I think it’s a wool thing, at least a cheap wool thing where they actually skimp on the actual wool but add enough that they can claim, “wool rug”. That would be from these cookie cutter places but with that being said, the color and pattern is absolutely beautiful and does indeed look amazing with earth tones. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is the price tag!!!! It’s not a Turkish, or Persian or Oriental rug but they try and price it as such. ... show more

I love this rug! I should have went with the bigger size, but the 5x7 was on sale when I purchased it so it felt like a steal at the time. In the future, I plan to upgrade to the bigger option but until then I still really love the rug! Some minor shedding but to be expected from wool. No smell, lays flat, feels nice on the feet! Nice rug, I do have to say it sheds quite a bit & if I sit on it in leggings / pajama pants it is very itchy / prickly. I’ve vacuumed it at least 10 times and every time it fills my vacuum canister half way through the 8x10 rug.. hoping it softens/ eventually stops shedding. May purchase a rug cleaner to see if that helps at all. Beautiful rug just upset with quality as it’s for my son’s nursery and I don’t see how we can sit / play on the rug with how much it sheds. ... show more

    • Used but I’m still going to keep it ..
I really like the rug. It’s thick and a beautiful design. But I’m positive I got a used one. Creases down the middle that I’m still trying to get out (laid it out October 8th, it is now October 22nd) there are still creases. The corners are still duct taped down because they keep lifting. The rug also came with stains. After paying 500$ with no guarantee I’d get a full refund I decided to keep the rug and do my best to bring it back to life as it is a good quality piece. Just wish I had received a brand new rug. The jute is lifted in several areas as well. So it looks like snags all over the rug . Trying to fix those as well. Overall a beautiful rug, just expect a used one.. many reviews warned me, so I’m warning you too . ... show more
