  • Very impressive sound & great value for what you get Very impressive sound & great value for what you get
I have been using Douni bluetooth speaker for my laptop entertainment system for a while, but I needed some more refined sound with better bass, so I decided to give this a try. my first impression was it was solidly built. Heavy (especially the bass box) and they all felt premium quality, especially for the price that I paid. very easy to set up and connect via bluetooth. as you can see, it is 2.1 system, active system which means you do not need any amplifiers to power up all 3 speakers. it seems like there is an amplifier in the bass box that can generate power to the woofer and two other satellite speakers which does not have amplifiers built in. The small & round control is just wonderful. very discrete and functional that no one will ever know it is the remote / bluetooth control for the speakers. it works marvelously. As for the sound quality, it is very good for what I had paid for. first, it was loud enough, probably up to 50 watts or so. mid was clear and wide and higher frequency also was much more refined than my Douni BT speaker. but the bass was way too much for me. it wasn't flabby & loud bass. It still maintained its tightness and did not bleed over too much to mid, but it seems like Logitech's sound signature was emphasized on the bass. In most of cases, I listen to youtube music, so after researching it for a while, I found out there is a app for Chrome / Youtube equalizer that you can add into each page you open on your laptop. you can just google "equalizer for chrome" and super easy download. once I had that equalizer app on the youtube page, I was able to control the frequencies. THAT was it. now it was perfect. This Logitech bluetooth speaker is probably the best one that I have ever bought in that price range. Great sound, very nice looking and it certainly looks great on my desk. ... show more

  • Yes & no, the GOOD & not so great.
Happy but disappointed in some areas. Let’s start by these are “computer speakers” & as a potential buyer, do not expect more & you will be fine. Hence 4 stars for such but perhaps 3 for other uses. Obviously they aren’t designed for throwing parties, playing in night clubs nor the home theater setup with a projector and or 100” massive screen. They are in fact pretty much just computer speakers and I’m pleased with that. I’m not a huge gamer. I only fly realistic RC simulators and or play golf & baseball games that are more than a few years old. These perform well there & I see no issues. However I anticipate the remote to be an issue, more on that later. Listening to music in general they sound fairly decent. Would these be my first pick to pair with my phone if I’m in a music mode, no I’ll leave them be as computer speakers. The bass, mids etc are noticeable as are lyrics across all genres except classical. If I’m streaming while working on a project on my computer, well then I am pleased. Now with classical music you do not have much depth or spatial sound & the bass disappears with some pieces so it’s a no go for Bach, Beethoven & Tchaikovsky. Depending on the age of recording I guess drums and large woods don’t exist in full sound, they’re missing ¿. But if you want some LL, Cube or Barry White the bass reappears. I do see a potential issue like I mentioned with the controller. It feels much more like a novelty than professionally designed feature. It lags at times and I question its long term survival. Additionally outside Bluetooth, they really lack any comprehensive choice of connections. You see the cost cutting there for sure. To summarize, hey a got a good deal on typical Logitech Computer Speakers but didn’t score a great sound system. They are worth it at the price point for general speakers. It is unfortunate you can’t control the sound any further than on/off/volume. But that may have been intentional to protect their lifespan. I dunno. Pretty much you’re browsing computer speakers. ... show more

  • Logitech Z407 Desktop Speakers
Really impressed with the Logitech Z407 Bluetooth Computer Speakers as a workstation upgrade. I didn’t expect the wireless control puck to matter much, but it completely changes daily use—having volume and bass control right on the desk instead of reaching behind speakers or using software sliders makes a bigger difference than expected. Sound quality is excellent for near-field listening and actually reminded me of classic PC speaker setups from Duke Nukem 3D and Doom—clear, punchy, and engaging at a desk. Great fit for a multi-monitor workstation setup. The subwoofer arrived with a blemish on the front side but that weigh that in on this review. Its a great product for, especially for the price point. ... show more

  • Awesome bluetooth speakers!!!
These speakers are awesome! I got them to replace my Logitec Z337 set, which were damaged after being dropped from taking them from my kitchen counter down to my den.. The Z337s were no longer available, so I tried the Z407s, which were the upgraded model.. The new set is wonderful!! The speakers are the same legendary quality that Logitec is famous for, and the subwoofer delivers even more bass than the old Z337 sub did!! Super easy to set up, and they are bluetooth enabled, so less cords!!! Also, the volume controller (also helps connect the wi-fi) is of superb construction and seems much more durable than the Z-337 controller (which was the only complaint I had about the Z-337s.. The dial fell apart rather quickly! LOL)... All in all, the Logitac Z-407s are an amazing set of speakers that deliver excellent sound and bass, and are also a great deal for your money!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product!!!! ... show more

  • Almost perfect for what I wanted, with a few nitpicks
UPDATE 30/12/21: Channel switching (the way you switch between AUX, USB, or Bluetooth), one of the cons in the original review, has started to be more bothersome than initially thought. I first noticed it when the puck's batteries died and had no more AAA batteries, so I had to buy some (there is no other way to switch without the puck). Then, I wanted to use the speakers both with my PC and another smart device at the same time, without having to physically press the puck's button (here comes into play my wish of it automatically switching based on what device's audio is playing), i.e. simultaneously. Sound quality-wise I still can't complain, but for other features, and taking into account that it came out recently enough (2020 IIRC), it doesn't feel modern enough. ORIGINAL: Bought these to replace some 8-9 years old Genius gaming speakers I had. My old ones had good volume and nice bass (also with subwoofer), but they had static and noise issues (probably from age) so I wanted something that could get just as loud, fill the room with sound, and have good sound quality; basically, be on equal or better footing. I'll just get straight to pros/cons, but do not get discouraged by me detailing my cons more which makes it seem like it's more bad than good; it's not the case. PROS: - The control puck. It's wireless and works on batteries, meaning fewer cables. This frees up space in my desk since I had a bigger, wired box for my speakers before. - The sound quality. These have more clarity and full sound than what I had before. Mids and highs sound clean, and the lows/subwoofer are also clean and don't rattle, while still being boomier than my old speakers. I'm a bass head, so I'm really pleased with the low end here. The volume can also get pretty loud and the sound is still clear. The room also gets filled with sound better. - Multiple audio channels. Can connect via Aux, USB, or Bluetooth. I mostly use Aux and BT, haven't tried USB yet but it shouldn't be that different from Aux really. It'd be nice if USB mode was able to connect to one of Logitech's software. CONS: - The speakers seem to have a standby/idle kind of mode that is based on inactivity (e.g. no audio has played in 15 minutes, but haven't actually tested how long it takes). In this mode, no audio will come through since it's basically off. There is no manual on/off switch so it does it automatically. My issue is that the way it turns back on is unfavorable since it needs audio to come through for at least ~2 seconds. The problem? If I have it connected to my phone or my computer, and I have notifications coming in, I won't hear them, because notifications play for less than a second, which is not enough to turn the speakers back on. I've missed many notifications because of it. - Had some issues with the left speaker port making false contact, so sometimes I had to turn the cable end a little bit. - It would be nice if the speakers switched the audio channel automatically based on which one is playing. Sometimes I'd have both my PC and phone connected, but it was in 3.5mm Aux mode and I was a little far, so I'd have to get to the puck and press the Bluetooth button to switch. It'd be nice if I could've just played something on my phone and it would just switch since the other channels are not playing anything. - The knob in the control puck does not have a turn limit, indicators, or anything, so you have to adjust the volume by feel (until you can hear the max volume audio cue or nothing at all). This is mostly an issue in Aux mode (and USB I'm guessing), since when using Bluetooth, it is tied to your device's volume, so you can actually see the percentage in your phone while adjusting the volume, or just control it from the phone. Overall, I think they're great and met my expectations, with those small issues. ... show more

  • VERY happy with these
I've bought Logitech computer speakers most of my life and these are by far my favorite set. The sound quality is amazing. Everything is so clear and the bass is very good. What's most impressive is the overall mix and clarity of music. I'm pretty sure you could spend twice as much and not get the same clarity, so for the price, these are basically unbeatable. The wireless control device (which looks like a hockey puck) is nice in that it reduces the overall amount of cables needed, but I don't use it much because I have audio controls on my keyboard. Still, it beats the old style with a cable because you can place it anywhere you want...even out of the way, in a drawer. The subwoofer is small and easy to tuck away somewhere on the floor too, yet it produces plenty of bass. Perhaps the best feature is the ability to place the main speakers on you desk vertical or horizontal, which allows you to decide what works best with your set up. Again, for the price, I think these speakers are hard to beat and I couldn't be any happier with the sound quality. ... show more
