It's inevitable. I keep thinking "Someone will make a better mouse than Logitech!" Or even one that's "just as good!" And I've tried many of the ones from other brands that resemble the MX Master series. But I keep coming back, because in actual use, nothing I've found actually beats the original. I've had my trusty Master 3 for years, but now the Master 4 manages to improve on it. The changes I like most: gone is the rubberized texture. It tended to get scuffed up and worn. My Master 3 has a worn spot from years of use. The Master 4 has a more solid texture that's still comfortable, but I can tell it will hold up better over time and is much easier to clean. The main buttons are covered with a frosted clear plastic. They feel even more durable than the older design. I love custom buttons, and now we get 3 on the side rather than 2. It took me a bit to get used to the placement, but now that I'm acclimated, I love the layout. The thumb button is much better than the old one (which honestly, I barely used). With the MX 4 I find it so natural to bring up the Actions Ring. Which brings me to software. This is really what sets the MX Master apart from every other knock off I've tried. The software is so good and works perfectly with every app I use. There are plug-ins for the Actions Ring for apps like Photoshop and Premiere, which I use a lot. The seamless integration of the software helps achieve the main thing I want from a good mouse- make my workflow easier, more comfortable and more streamlined (as much as is possible from a point device). Put a few often-used shortcuts in the palm of my hand, but don't get in my way. This combination hardware and software achieves all of that. I paired this with the Logi Bolt dongle, and the connection is rock stable. The investment in both was worth it since I can expand to multiple devices from one dongle as needed. As always, I switch between two Macs and a PC with ease. Use with multiple devices is yet another major strength of this mouse, and software features like Logi-Flow make multi device use seamless. I love the look of the mouse and love it in the lighter color. I've no worry about battery life. The MX 3 I'm replacing still has "I never even think about it" battery life after years of use, and no doubt the MX 4 will have worry-free battery life for years to come. Even with daily use, I count recharges in the span of weeks. The scroll wheel to me feels identical to the MX 3; the same excellent quality I'm used to. The side scroll wheel is slightly higher than I’ve been used to it from muscle memory- but now that I'm used to it, I prefer the new location. The difference is subtle, but I find I don't accidentally hit it ever when mousing normally or using the side buttons. The MX 4 is a little heavier than the MX 3, but I find I prefer this. I know over $100 is a LOT to ask for a mouse. There are tons of cheaper options, and I've used a lot of them. There are other mice I like using, but NOTHING I like using MORE. The Master 4 easily has become my favorite mouse ever, over the Master 3. When you spend many hours each day with a mouse in your hand, editing as I do, the overall quality, feel, integration with software, features and comfort REALLY matters. Since using an MX Master mouse for years now, I've not had any wrist pain or issues- the ergonomics of this style of mouse works perfectly for me. A mouse to me is a long-term piece of equipment. I use this on Mac and it is hands-down the best one on the market, especially when compared to Apple's Magic Mouse. Magic Mouse doesn't even compare.. it's almost the same price and is uncomfortable, useless, and hasn't been updated since it was released. This one keeps up with high resolutions and refresh rates while also having unique customizable features making productivity and even everyday tasks 100x quicker. I also love how I can connect it up to 3 devices so I can also use it on my gaming desktop and create a profile unique to each device. You can download the Logi Options+ application in order to fully customize this mouse and also install plugins that have different purposes and uses depending on your workflow: gaming, vector design, web design, coding, work (i.e. Slack), Adobe Creative Suite, music streaming, video/picture editing, and so on. You can also change what each button does, what each of the two scrolling wheels do, speed, sensitivity, and more. This is 100% worth the price. I've seen "cool" gaming mouses that cost way more and also do way less. Not to mention, this is comfortable for hours of use, and it pairs instantly. I love it, and and wrists love it! The haptic feedback is nice feature, and the customization options are nice to have. I've never used shortcuts before this, but they've come in handy during moments when I want to quickly access certain apps/folders/keybinds. Even being able to customize the feel of the scroll wheel is insanely cool! I also appreciate having the horizontal scroll wheel as well (I use it all the time in my projects) It glides smoothly and accurately, It's large, but still portable to bring with you on the go. I like how it connected quickly to the laptop and it functioned pretty much out of the box. I think the value was worth it for what the mouse can offer with QOL improvements and the battery life is great. I havent had any technical issues setting up or using this mouse with my Macbook Pro. In addition, before owning this mouse, I chose this one because I had been experiencing mild symptoms of carpal tunnel (I play also play instruments and use electronics often) I'm certain that the design of this mouse has been helping a ton with managing the strain on my wrists when I need to spend time at my desk. ... show more

When working on your computer being efficient in you workflow is a constant roadblock. The mouse eliminates most of those roadblocks. The programmable buttons allow you to individualize the multiple buttons and do so by application. So you have a cut and paste for excel and a forward and backward button for safari. The time savings may not seem like much initially but you get into a rhythm when working and this mouse helps create that. The new thumb button has multiple options and are also programmable. Despite my general preference for Apple products, I've always been pleased with my Logitech peripheral purchases. MX Master 4 works as expected. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is to avoid the grade inflation so common now. It's a solid product, and I highly recommend it. Worth the cost, works well, easy to configure and manage, though the weird menu thing I haven't bothered with yet, sold scroll functionality and convenient battery life. The material used gives it a better feel than the previous version. The haptics are a nice addition and give it a familiar feel when using gestures on a Magic Trackpad. However, besides not including the dongle on the Mac version, and for the price, this doesn’t really feel like an upgrade. The new shape and weight make using it awkward and in the previous version, I could easily lift and pull back. Now when I run out of room on my desk, I can never get a firm grip and always ends up slipping and dropping down on the desk. My third mx master. I think this one feels nicer competed to 3/3s but I find the action thumb button to be uncomfortable because it is located too far and motion gestures are less convenient now. Otherwise it is a great product. New shortcuts system is nice and top cover feels more robust and it likely won’t peel off as did the old soft touch plastic on the older models. Also I’m not sure if drivers got better or macOS itself, but gesture recognition doesn’t break anymore and I don’t have to reboot the logi driver every week. ... show more
