Features

  • REDUCES SAG UNDER LOAD -- Ideal for occasionally hauling or towing varying loads; heavy gauge, calibrated coil spring reduces sag when loaded up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner's manual).
  • EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Tuned specifically for each application, full-displaced valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide ride consistency
  • CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and PTFE-banded piston helps reduce friction between the piston and pressure tube to enhance responsiveness to changing road surfaces
  • LONGER SERVICE LIFE -- Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod delivers long life
  • IMPROVES PERFORMANCE -- Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade

Description

Ideal for light trucks that that tow or carry varying loads, Monroe load adjusting shocks include a heavy gauge calibrated spring that adjusts to road and weight conditions to provide extra control when operating conditions get more demanding.

  • OK but lacking
For a Gen 5 Town and Country (2012) . Yea, these will pick of the rear a bit but to me, not enough- I think they pick up about 200-300 lbs, for normal loads. I wind up carrying loads from time to time often at night on state hwys. One issue is my head light aim is changed with the load. I wanted air shocks such that I could level it as required as I had on my old 2005 T&C. Sadly it seems Chrysler redesigned the rear end so the shocks are at an appreciable angle which makes them poor application for air shocks and no one offers them for that vehicle! One other negative, It seems to me they have markedly less damping than the stock shocks so it fells floaty/ bouncy on undulating road surfaces. ... show more

  • Improved ride height
A bit bouncy when unloaded if you hit a pothole just right. Great for a van full of kids and our pop up camper.

  • Work very well
These work much better than I expected on my Chrysler Town and Country

  • Ehhhhhh
It does work at assisting a load and not squatting while still or smooth roads. The shock action is not as stiff as original so it seems to float and bounce more than before. The shock could stand to be stiffer.

  • A very important message about the struts
Here is the message install these struts on my 17 dodge for Pauline yes they do work fine but I heard a rattling noise in the rear right after I install them I have experience with mechanic and know when a noise is coming from the rear of the vehicle so I proceeded to follow the noise and it came from one of the struts One buying the stretch be careful they are made from a very light metal four those out there who cannot stand the noise from the rear of the vehicle do not buy the struts you will get your moneys worth thank you for reading and God bless ... show more

  • Noisy on my 2019 Grand Caravan SXT
After OEM shocks grew quite noisy and were replaced once around 20k miles and were growing noisy again around 30k miles. I thought the Monroe 58648 looked like a good option since we were thinking about a small RV trailer. The ride was nice and firm, but not too firm, and I think they would have been great for towing or heavier loads, but they were noisy at low speeds from the beginning. It seems that the top part of the shock holding the coil over spring would hit the top shock bracket and made noise and there was no way to turn it that it wouldn't. I ended up returning the Monroe 58648 and getting KYB 349225 shocks instead. I also bought new shock bolts and nuts from the dealership just in case they were damaged when they replaced the OEM shocks under warranty which were way over-torqued when I removed them. Be sure to torque the bolts to spec of 55 ft/lbs AFTER you put the wheels on the ground. I also pushed down the rear of the vehicle a few times before torqueing them. Noise gone and nice ride so far, almost two months in and 3k miles. ... show more

  • Work fine
Yes, van sits alittle higher in back now and maybe bounces alittle bit more without a load in it but only noticeable going over train tracks quickly. Town and country van on for 2 months now with no issues. I have made several 2 hr trips with my 5x8 trailer and it is much better riding now.
