  • Excellent Quality and Software
This is the standard for digital logic analyzers, and it works flawlessly. Logic2 works really well on macOS at high to low sample rates. Excellent combination.

  • Great tool
Color: Red
Love the simplicity of the software… but would be great if it included three way cables. This analyzer can’t issue commands it only listens in, and I had to solder wires to connect the host + device + analyzer.

  • Good for the money
So just to set the stage.. I'm a professional engineer specializing in hardware and firmware design. I have a Rigol 5104 MSO (with all of the options) but needed a logic analyzer for some RS232 work. I just want to view a 38.4 K baud signal and trigger on a frame that starts with AA EE. I figured that surely a $500 analyzer could do this, but I was wrong. In fact the Saleae has the hardware but lacks the software. This analyzer can trigger on a single serial byte but that's it.. no patterns. It can capture loads of data and view it as hex but again, I can only search for a single byte- there is no pattern search! It was particularly frustrating that the 'Terminal' view has an ASCII 'escape' view but not simple 'hex' view (see my capture). It would take almost nothing for a good programmer to add this but apparently there is no need for it (except in my case). Tech support was very good and they confirmed that they have no pattern search. Aside from that, the software is pretty good. It's easy to capture waveforms, move the signals around vertically and rename them. You can even try a demo of the software to see if it meets your requirements. The hardware is very nicely made: the probes and wires are good quality and well packaged. And after looking around I could not find any other logic analyzers that have this pattern trigger or pattern search. **EDIT After using this for many hours I've had a few more complaints about the interface but nothing major. And it did help me solve a difficult problem, so I increased the stars from 3 to 4. Hopefully the developers will take some of my suggestions and make it a better product. ... show more

  • Really nicely built. You can tell they care about their software.
Color: Red
I'm just getting started exploring everything you can do. The software is really nice (which is saying something since it appears to be written in QT). It runs nicely on my mac and mostly seems to make sense. The software for the other analyzers I've used is garbage, so I really appreciate this. I've been playing with their API and the real-time beta. For kicks (and because it's super useful) I downloaded their Async Serial Analyzer source and hacked in a UDP server. I have that banging out serial data to a second app that I wrote to consume it all. I'll never use nanokdp or fight with FTDI drivers again! ... show more

  • Excellent product!
This is a very well made product - does both analog and digital at the same time on all 8 channels. The new Logic 2 software is truly fantastic - major improvement over the original Logic, which was still the best logic analyzer software out there (so now it’s even bettter). No glitches, it just works. Great analyzers for various protocols, such as serial, I2C, etc. It’s a MUST HAVE tool for digital circuit testing. I have tried others, and returned them. This is a keeper! ... show more

  • Pure Techie Goodness
Color: Red
Opening the box and seeing the case it comes in, you know you're in for a treat. Everything included is of excellent quality and built for the long run. I setup a simple micro controller, pi3, python script that would send serial info to my computer. I then tapped into the Tx, Rx, and common lines. A few minutes later, getting used to the software, I was intercepting and correctly converting the serial feed into human readable text. This thing is so cool, I think I'm going to take it to a coffee shop and bask in the knowledge of the wizard tool I now posses. ... show more

  • Worth every penny!
Color: Red
My initial impression of my Logic 8 is that it's a miracle I've ever been able to get anything done without it. If you have any doubts: -Download the software and play with it in demo mode... it is super intuitive and highly capable. -Head to the Salleae website and read about the warranty on this thing... They'll fix or replace it for three years no matter what the cause of the problem. Honestly, this thing is worth every single penny. VERY happy with it! ... show more
