  • Test Leads: Way Better Than Expected
Size: 2 PACK
Back in the ’80s, we used to see these things attached to a flashy set of bird feathers and called them “roach clips.” That’s definitely not what I bought these for. I’m a long-time hobbyist and DIY tinkerer, often testing or troubleshooting electronics or wiring things together quickly to prove a concept. Sometimes I’ll pick up used car audio gear and bench test it to see if it needs repair. This set of test leads makes those temporary electrical connections simple, secure, and reliable. I actually ordered them because the quantity-to-price ratio was impressive — but the quality far exceeded my expectations. Here’s what stood out: • Soldered connections: The wires are soldered to the clips, which means solid, low-resistance connections and far fewer failures. There’s nothing worse than chasing a wiring issue only to find out your test lead was the problem. • Wire quality: I expected a lot less for the price. The insulation is durable, the wire gauge is accurate, and they feel like they’ll hold up through a lot of use. Overall, this is an excellent-quality product for a modest price — a pleasant surprise and a great addition to any hobbyist’s toolkit. ... show more

  • Reliable and secure connections for any electronics project
Size: 1 PACK
The WGGE WG-026 Test Lead Set is an essential addition to any workbench, offering far better quality than standard un-soldered leads. The standout feature is that the clips are both soldered and stamped to the 22 AWG copper wires, ensuring they won't pull apart under tension and providing a consistently low-resistance connection. With five distinct colors and a convenient 20.5-inch length, it's incredibly easy to organize complex circuits without getting lost in a sea of cables. The PVC insulation is flexible and durable, making these clips perfect for everything from quick prototyping to educational classroom use. ... show more

  • Good bunch of clip leads for a decent price
Size: 2 PACK
A good bunch of clip leads. Thought I was ordering a batch of 10 but received 2 bunches of 10. No issues with any. Some reviewers have complained that the gator clip insulating hood is too slippery on the clip. Not a big deal if you hold them squarely. I used these on a homemade electrical STEM kit for my 7-year old grandson and he has no problem with them. Would buy again (if I ever run out!) ... show more

  • Soldering makes the difference
Size: 1 PACK
Without a doubt, the worst thing about most cheap clip leads is the wires are almost never soldered to the alligator clips. That is not the case with these. They are soldered just as the listing says, and crimped (on the insulation) just as they should be. The alligator clip hardware looks identical in every respect to most of my old clip leads, apart from the old junk not being soldered. The WGGE leads measure zero ohms resistance. Some of my old clip leads (with the wire bent around under the insulation and crimped instead of soldered), measure anywhere from one ohm to as high perhaps 10 ohms! Thanks to the unpredictable nature of the "soft" crimp (there's no way to get a solid crimp with the wire tucked in with the insulation), the unsoldered leads' resistance tends to wander around as the leads are moved. If there's anything worse than a clip lead with several ohms of resistance, it's one having *unstable* resistance. The WGGE alligator clip insulating sleeves are just right. This may seem a minor point but I have accumulated a variety of poor clip leads, some with insulating sleeves that render them nearly unusable. Some have sleeves so tight at the lever end, the clips never fully close. Some are tight at the clip end, requiring inordinate pressure to get them to open. Some are so loose and slippery the clip is free to rotate within the sleeve, making you feel like you are trying to get a grip on a greased snake. The moral; take a bit of extra time and a tiny bit extra money and buy clip leads that aren't junk. These are economy leads to be sure, but they are not junk and are quite usable. ... show more
