Description

Loctite Power Grab Tub Surround Interior Construction Adhesive has been specifically designed to bond most bathroom and shower enclosures. It resists moisture, steam, water, heat or cold when fully cured. Loctite Power Grab Tub Surround has very low odor and requires only soap and water to clean up. It does not require venting like most solvent-based tub surround adhesives. This versatile adhesive bonds to most plastic (polystyrene, acrylic, ABS, PVC) bathroom and shower enclosures to moisture resistant gypsum drywall, waterproof tile backer, exterior grade wood, sanded tile board and sanded ceramic tile. Loctite Power Grab Tub Surround is also third party GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified and GREENGUARD Certified for Children and Schools.

Overall, seems to work ok. Two major observations: Thankfully I was alerted by another review that this does not work with waterproof drywall (and several other materials). It needs a porous wall material to cure. I ended up putting up plywood since it doesn't crumble like drywall if it gets wet. Time will tell whether or not that was a good choice. In the grand scheme of things, the shower surround should provide all of the waterproofing necessary. Also of note. This adhesive is fairly thick, almost like a grainy putty. If you're installing a thin glue up surround with large flat panels, I recommend coating nearly 100% of the wall with the adhesive. I found that the normal S like pattern will cause the panel to be slightly wavy. It is impossible to get the glue spread thin enough to avoid this. The wavy appearance is not extremely noticeable, but it is there. I can see it in the reflection of the shiny plastic, and feel it running my hand over it. The first panel I put up (the most visible one of course) was not to my liking, but I didn't have enough glue to change it and it was too late. Most people probably won't notice, but I do because I installed it. Might depend on how thin the surround plastic is. I definitely did not purchase one of the higher end shower surrounds. So it might be unavoidable in some cases. If it matters, buy extra glue. And be careful to spread evenly with a trowel as directed. Maybe it will reduce the ripples. Other than that, no issues. I followed the directions and cleaned the plastic with rubbing alcohol before glueing. ... show more

I used this to secure vinyl shower tiles. It is very easy to work with and is on the list of approved products for tiling over tile. It dries quickly but not too quickly that you canโ€™t adjust the tiles or fix mistakes. It takes 2 days to fully cure. This claims "instant grab', well, it didn't. And I didn't have bracing prepared, so my shower panel would not stay on the wall. I have to remove it and remove all the glue and start over again. Big mess. I used a different glue (Locktitle Ultimate) - which also claims instant grab, and doesn't. But I had bracing prepared to hold it in place, and after letting it cure for 4 days it holds.
