Features

  • Flotation Foam is a polyurethane 2 part foam that, when mixed in equal parts and poured in place this foam will soundproof, insulate, or provide extra buoyancy.
  • This expandable foam is recommended for void filling in nonstructural applications. It can be poured underneath decks and inside cavities where a lightweight flotation foam is needed to provide buoyancy.
  • 2# Density polyurethane flotation Foam Quart Kit; Consists of 1 pint of Part A and 1 pint of Part B and produces 1.25 cubic feet.
  • Once fully cured this foam can be laminated over with any type of polyester, epoxy or vinyl ester resin without melting.
  • All expansion rates and times given are temperature critical. Temperatures below 75 F will lower the expansion rate therefore requiring more foam. Ideal working temperature is 75 to 80 F or above. Accurate measuring of these products is extremely critical. Working time before foaming: approx. 45 seconds Time before full expansion: approx. 5 minutes

  • Lifeguard float repair
I used it on a lifeguard float I use to display a dive flag that I had cracked and wanted to salvage. I did the math on volume of the interior in like 5 seconds and was off on my mix a little on the too much side. Was quite enjoyable when the reaction happened as it was quite explosive. I had just poured one part in then the other and shook the entire float. This is contrary entirely to the instructions mind you, but it apparently works well enough and maybe a minute later the float was launching foam from the cracks and the plug hole. 10/10 entertainment value alone. ... show more

  • A little misleading, but good product.
I thought I was getting bottles much larger than the ones I recieved, which would make the price seem fair, but it's definitely not worth the price for this small of bottles. The foam itself is great though, the cells are super dense, it cures quickly, and shaping/sanding is pretty easy and doesn't leave gunk on anything. ... show more

  • works great for filling objects.
I have used this product for several projects over the years, from filling a hole left in a basement wall where the conduit from a service entrance that was moved came thru (it takes several as it has to fill the void in the block from the bottom of the wall up past the hole), to filling false 6x6 posts at the end of my driveway. ... show more

  • No Funnels!
This stuff failed miserably for my application. It expands very quickly if you have any thoughts of using a funnel of any kind just forget it! despite my failings with it the foam itself is very strong and dose what it says just work fast and forget funnels! i made a simple funnel out of a sheet of cardboard to try and pour it into a hard to reach spot and it just foamed up in the funnel blocking it almost instantly. ... show more

  • GREAT EXPERIMENT TO SHOW KIDS
I teach Sunday School and do quick science experiments to keep them interested and wanting to come to class. Polymerization is an amazing thing. I mix the chemicals in a small plastic cup and it overflows the cup. After it dries, I pass it around. Kids like to take it home. I do wipe off the lids with paint thinner so they will re-open next time. the lids can seal shut. ... show more
