  • Predictable expansion, reliable texture, easy to work with
Size: 2 Pack
The ONLY downside to this spray foam is the capacity of the 12oz can, I didn't realize the size until after I'd placed the order. The Akfix foam seems to work very well. Filled many holes in our basement's foam board insulation with one half-can. The foam expands nicely and adheres really well even on old surfaces. Texture when spraying out is smooth, not overwhelmingly gummy or sticky which is great to work with. Expansion happens within the first minute or so and it doesn't continue after that, perfect for my needs... Was able to smooth some areas down with a flat tool before the foam "set" when I didn't want it to protrude beyond a set limit. Just bought a few more cans in the 24oz size because there's more work to do! Would recommend this brand, good stuff. ... show more

  • So far so good on patching a gap in a brick pizza oven...
Size: 1 Pack
I got this because I go over to my buddy's house a lot and he has a brick PIZZA OVEN that I LOVE TO USE. The last couple of times we used it, we both noticed some integrity issues in the pizza crust, so we took a closer look at the pizza oven and noticed some substantial gaps which I assume were letting some of the heat out and threw off our cook times. I apologize for rambling on, but we used some of this to patch those gaps and tried it out the next day and everything seems like it's back to normal. All of that said, only time will tell if this will hold up under such extreme temperatures so I will follow up in a month or so after we've used it at least another couple of times. ... show more

  • Bust of contents

can emptied in seconds. Had no time to guide the product to cover the hole. Didn’t do the job - waste of money

  • It's done the job well for me
Size: 1 Pack
he fire retardant feature is a big plus for peace of mind, especially when using it around windows and doors. The orange color is a bit unique, but it blends well once painted over, which is a nice touch. The foam expands effectively and fills gaps quite nicely. I used it to seal some drafty areas in my home, and I've noticed a significant difference in insulation. It’s pretty easy to apply; just aim and spray, and it expands quickly. One thing I really appreciate is that it's paintable, so I can easily match it to the color of my walls after it's fully cured. Overall, I’d recommend this spray foam if you’re looking for something reliable for insulation and sealing. It's done the job well for me, and I feel safer knowing it has that fire-blocking capability! ... show more

  • Better than the leading Competitor
Size: 1 Pack
I ordered this to seal some gaps in my air conditioner plenum area. I had used GreatStuff fire retardant insulation but ended up having to redo some work around the plenum. I ended up using this Akfix product to try out. I wasn't disappointed. It is so much easier to apply that GreatStuff and the flow comes out much smoother due to the slightly wider flow nozzle. It foams up just as well if not better. I also noticed it cleans off my hands much better than GreatStuff. It still sticks on your hands and clothes if a mess is made but, it does seem to come off easier if washing it off right away. I will gladly purchase and use this product again. ... show more

  • Worked fine to fill holes that i ran cable through
Size: 1 Pack
I ordered the Akfix 840 Fire Block Spray Foam (1x12 Oz.)- Orange Color Fire Retardant Polyurethane Expanding Foam for Gap Filling, Insulation and Sealing on Window and Door, Fire Rated, Paintable | 12 Oz. 1 Pack. I bought this to Phil about one and a 1/2 dozen 1.5 inch holes that I created to run networking and coax cable through through 2 house levels, as a bundle. The vinyl outside casing of the bundle about 1-1.25 inch in diameter. This product worked well to fill the hole gaps. Where I was filling the holes is behind drywall and so I don't really need to trim but it can easily be trimmed after dry. After 1 hour, it was no longer tacky but fyll drying is longer (see can instructions). Some other people have noted a strong smell. But I can detect no really noticeable.Smell and my holes are in an enclosed space. And I stuck my head in there and still really could not smell anything after it had dried. I had a little bit of trouble spraying vertically up with the can but spraying horizontally or down worked fine. I use the pipe cleaner to clean the nozzle after removing it from the can. That work pretty well but I did not use a solvent and if I had used the solvent it would have been really clean. The nozzle may have cleaned up more easily if I'd let it dry in the nozzle and then use the pipe cleaner. If I wasn't in the middle of a house move.I'd go ahead and do a test of the blocking capability.By filling a small metal tube with the phone and then trying to burn through it. But I did not do this test yet. Overall, 4 stars from me with 1 star deducted for problems trying to fill holes from below. ... show more
