In total I have purchased 48 cans of the Vega Bond spray foam insulation. I have used it to air seal and insulate and wall that had to be repaired due to water damage, air sealing and insulating our rim joist as well as air sealing and insulating HVAC returns. The single component insulation spray foam is just as easy to use as normal spray foam, no need to worry about mixture ratios and temperature as you would for two component foam. There is very little learning curve basically how to use the spray nozzles properly to get into the hard to reach areas as well as how much pressure is needed. If you use too much pressure you can blow off existing layer of insulation so spray a layer on with the least amount of pressure to do so let it set up and then spray another layer if you need it to be thicker. The only issue I ran into was while using the extension hose the flow was not sufficient to get proper pressure for it to come out in a fan. Cutting the hose and reducing the length resolved this issue.

I'm doing a renovation of a vacation home and tore out all the walls to fix a water leak. The insulation originally put in by the builder wasn't very good, so I decided to try out this product. I've been very pleased with how easy it is to use and especially pleased with how well it is insulating my walls. My first canister was mostly used for figuring out how it works but after one can, I felt confident to do the entire house. I live in the SW which gets a lot of dust, so I did some cleaning first. I also recommend wetting down the surface to get better contact with the foam. I used a garden pump sprayer I got from the hardware store, and it works great. I highly recommend using goggles, gloves and a mask while installing this foam. You don't want to get this on your hands or in your eyes and you don't want to be breathing in the fumes. If you take proper safety precautions you will not have any issues.

Followed the instructions to a "T", wet down the surface, got the internal room temp up to 75 degrees, heated the cans, shaked the cans for well more than 30 seconds. Still cans were not laying down the material properly, was not as smooth as you would expect spray foam to lay down/become flat. Wasted two whole cans as the pressure was not strong enough. For the cost i'd hire a professional to seal/insulate the interior surface properly, too much of a learning curve for the price. I really researched the brand/material to make sure this wasnt going to be a botch job. Update: Customer service reached out and made this experience far better than i could imagine. They sent me more cans of insulation that worked better! I appreciate them trying to resolve the situation.

I needed to patch up a hole left after some repairs in my attic. I was very anxious because the instructions seemed rather particular regarding heat and the guidance that I had to do it in one shot with no more than a 30s break or the stuff would harden and I'd need a new tip. I cleaned the area, sprayed it with some water to get it moist and I heated the can using a heated blanket. Then I shook the thing, hooked it up to the (provided) gun and... it all worked beautifully. I now have patches of purple foam in an attic of grey foam, but who cares? It's the attic! I think I need to put on another layer, but I'm not the least bit intimidated now to pick up another can and do it at this point. It was pretty simple.

It seems to work great. There's quite a learning curve with the application specifically on an overhead surface. The orange tips tend to aerosolize the foam, so I needed to slow way down and orient the nozzle closer to the surface.

Product is as described for what it will do as far as coverage. I did not have any dead bottle or issues with the product or equipment. I have purchased this a few times now and the kits I ordered last year and installed lasted well. I will be purchasing another kit here soon as well. Make sure you do cover up when spraying above your head of course and keep the bottles within the temp in the directions for best expansion. Very satisfied and will buy from them again.

With the 12 can kit, I put an average of 1”-2” of foam in between the ceiling joists on a 10’x13’ guest bedroom we are redoing in our basement to help with sound transfer between floors. I will also add fiberglass batt insulation and then the sheetrock ceiling to finish it. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the cans. This being my first time, getting used to the pressure difference between the start of the cans and the finish is a little tough, but not too big of a problem. Tons of pressure and nice wide spray at first, all the way to barely able to get the last bit out if the can. If you plan accordingly, you can work around it pretty well. My advice is to plan to do main large areas with the first 60% of can @ 12”-18” hold off, smaller areas with next 30% of can @ around 6”- 8” hold off , and use the last 10% can to fill cracks and gaps up close. Make sure the temperature of the cans and area are warmed as specified, I also dampened the area and did not have any adhesion issues. When cleaning the gun, spray into a paper towel so you can see when it sprays clear, and then use the now wet paper towel to clean the outside of the gun and other equipment. The kit I got is pretty good for the price. The gun, goggles and cleaner are great quality. All of my cans sprayed consistently. I will definitely buy more cans for other projects down the road. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who will do all the preparation and has an understanding that this foam will need extra layers to build up to thicker needs.
