With shoulder surgery coming up I wanted a warm cape/poncho that I would continue to wear later on. I checked out seven and this is my #1. The styling is ideal but the fabric is disappointing, being a thin fleece that is not especially warm (except for the collar) and doesn't hold its shape well. If it were thicker or lined this cape would be a home run. But on to the styling, which will work perfectly with a sling. With a cape, having your arms show mitigates some of the width, and that goes twice for an arm in a sling. The arm openings of this cape show just enough of both, and the coverage provides some warmth. The openings are sewn in place making them easier to deal with than those that must be buttoned or snapped, then don't stay buttoned or snapped. (There is a fair amount of strain at the top and bottom of the openings; I'll reinforce them with additional stitching.) The front buttons are a cinch to operate with one hand. The pockets are in the right place and big enough for my cellphone. The shorter length covers my butt while avoiding the voluminous look of longer capes. One small complaint is that the front hangs down a bit longer than the back unless I give the back a good tug.

I was looking for a winter weight cape for a family member who is wheelchair bound and has issues with her shoulders (difficult to put on a regular coat with sleeves). This cape will be sufficient, although it is a little lighter weight than I was hoping for. It would be sufficient for a cool spring or fall day, but it does not seem like it will be appropriate for a long time outside on a northeast US winter day. That said, the quality is good, seams and stitching are good. Buttons are easy to close and are sewn on well. The size works well on several body types - the recipient is a size 14-16 and it looks nice on her; I also (size 8) tried it and it fit me nicely as well.

Mom is in a wheelchair. She wears the poncho/cape backwards so that the arm holes fit over the wheelchair handles in the back. The buttons keep the cape in place. It works great!!!

This was purchased because of a broken arm. Buttons loops are so tight I can’t hook with my hand. I suggest a more elastic loop. The comfort is good, thickness better then I expected.

I bought this cape with the idea that it would keep me reasonably warm during the period that I had to use a bulky cast-like device on one arm. The fabric is thin, the slits for arms are huge. and the voluminous cut of the cape let every bit of wind and cold underneath. I'm 5'4" and wear a size 8 to 10. This might work for someone who is heavier or just doesn't mind a garment that blows about in the slightest breeze. Unfortunately, the tags and shipping invoice got tossed so I can't return it. It will either go to someone in my Buy Nothing group with full disclosure of its flaws or be in the next bag to Goodwill.

I absolutely love this cape. I gave it 4 stars because the buttons are so loose, I've already had to sew 2 of them back on. I've only worn it a handful of times. Manufacturer needs to do a better job at quality control.

It's not nearly as elegant as it looks in this picture- it's fleece. It is a nicer, low-pile fleece, but fleece nonetheless. However, it is warm and comfortable and has been what I needed during these last weeks of pregnancy. If you're trying to buy this as a way to avoid buying a maternity coat, it will work for you!
